“You” was the “corporate you” (as in the “nation”) — directed at the culture... not you personally...

And that’s precisely why this nation is not a Christian nation...

So, how many Americans would you estimate have killed somebody? 75%? 85? You may not be familiar with Christianity, but we Christians believe that Jesus, who was without sin, died so that even if 97% of Americans killed somebody they would be forgiven for it if they just asked. There is an American holiday which celebrates just that. I think it’s in April.

Oh..., and one more thing... let me clue you in on polls...

I can name two of the biggest *cults* in the United States, who have teachings that make them *non-Christian* in what they preach to their members — but — those members would say that Jesus Christ rose from the dead (even if they are *non-Christian* in their teachings).

Those two *biggest cults* in the United States are the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons.

They will answer in the affirmative in those polls.

AND..., in addition..., you have *another type of group* who calls themselves “Christian” (in polls, no less... LOL...) and yet, see what Jesus says about them...

Matthew 7:13-27

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?

17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.

19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:

25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26 But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:

27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

This is the state of affairs of the U.S. ... (not the “Christians” in the U.S. but the “nation”....)

— And great was its fall.” —

[... and so it was...]

Then, I can go to several so-called “churches” around here and find groups that *deny* the Trinity and that’s one foundational doctrine that if it’s denied, then you’re a “cult” group and not Christian... All those people in those churches will *also* answer in the affirmative on those polls, too...

You asked — So, how many Americans would you estimate have killed somebody? 75%? 85?

I’m taking that question to be in the context of the 43 million babies killed. And so, if I were to make an estimate, I would say in the vicinity of 20 million or more. If you count both parties involved, which may or may not be the case, then it could be around 30-40 million people...

===== ===== ===== ===== ===== ===== ===== ===== ===== =====

And then you said — You may not be familiar with Christianity, but we Christians believe that Jesus, who was without sin, died so that even if 97% of Americans killed somebody they would be forgiven for it if they just asked.

Oh, but I do know what Christianity is about... :-) And that’s precisely why I say that it’s a minority here in the United States. I’ve talked to enough people who make the claim of “being Christian” to know that they don’t know what makes them a Christians. You’ll get answers like, “Well, I’m not like a murderer or anything and I try to do the right thing.” Or, you may hear, “I may miss church sometimes but I do make it most of the time.” Or, you’ll hear something like, “I might do some things wrong, but mostly I try to be a good person and treat others like I want them to treat me.”

Even pastors *know* without a doubt, that the people sitting in the pews in front of them are *not* all Christians, even if they think they are. I’ve run into people in church who couldn’t tell you why they are a Christian, other than the fact that they sit in the pews... or they’ve been a member of this church for years, or their parents brought them to this church when they were a kid and they know everyone in it.

The percentage of Christians in the United States is probably around 20% or thereabouts, I would say. Now..., there are a lot more who *say* they are Christians and they may (indeed) *try* to be good people. I will give them that much. But, a majority of them are *not* Christian.

So, the United States is definitely *not* a Christian nation — especially when you apply Jesus’ *fruit* test.... :-)

You will know them by their fruit, and when you examine the “fruit of this country, it’s definitely pretty rotten fruit...”

As you can see “all is not as it seems”....

Most American Christians do not believe that Satan or the Holy Spirit exist
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2228045/posts

Obviously, there are “smorgasbord Christians” running around in this country...

[ ... if they don’t believe God’s Word, then you can imagine what else they don’t *really* believe... LOL...]
