It wasn’t until America fought the terrorists back on the Barbary Coast did the countries that created that particular mess stop appeasing those pirates and fought them back as well.

The have attacked us now. Why do you want us cut and run? Are you expecting someone to bail us out?

This picture is from the French yacht hijacking.

Any word on the nationality of the other 6 people?

Nope, I’m not expecting anyone to bail us out... LOL...

But, obviously others expect *us* to bail them out... :-)

This must be a very taxing time for Obama,...being tested again and again. Luckily for us, Joe Biden has warned us of how difficult a period this testing time will become. ;^(

Well..., if this is what the “testing” was — that he was talking about... this is nothing... :-)

I would hope that this would be the full extent of the “testing” of Obama..., because I don’t think he could handle the type of “testing” that we see went on with President Reagan (shown in my lists that I gave...).

President Reagan could say to Obama (if Reagan were still alive), “I know ‘testing’ and this ain’t no testing.”

Federalist #11 — Alexander Hamilton
http://www.foundingfathers.info/federalistpapers/fedindex.htm

“...we shall discover that the rivalships of the parts would make them checks upon each other, and would frustrate all the tempting advantages which nature has kindly placed within our reach. In a state so insignificant our commerce would be a prey to the wanton intermeddlings of all nations at war with each other; who, having nothing to fear from us, would with little scruple or remorse, supply their wants by depredations on our property as often as it fell in their way. The rights of neutrality will only be respected when they are defended by an adequate power. A nation, despicable by its weakness, forfeits even the privilege of being neutral.

Under a vigorous national government, the natural strength and resources of the country, directed to a common interest, would baffle all the combinations of European jealousy to restrain our growth. This situation would even take away the motive to such combinations, by inducing an impracticability of success. An active commerce, an extensive navigation, and a flourishing marine would then be the offspring of moral and physical necessity. We might defy the little arts of the little politicians to control or vary the irresistible and unchangeable course of nature...

...The necessity of naval protection to external or maritime commerce does not require a particular elucidation, no more than the conduciveness of that species of commerce to the prosperity of a navy...”

Great post. Thanks for the reminder.

These words jumped out: Under a vigorous national government

Ah yes, I remember vigorous national governments, even here in the good ole USA. But what can a wuss in the White House do? I mean, really, his choices are so limited. Can't you understand? Give him a break. Cut him some slack.

Maybe we should have elected his wife, The Dominatrix. She'd enjoy whacking those naughty pirates.
Yoo Hoo, Baracky, can Michelle come out to play?

Hopefully, someone can find the key to the file cabinet and reveal his record. I did read somewhere and wish I'd bookmarked it, that the year Zero was elected to the Harvard Law Review, they waived the requirement that candidates had to write anything. I also read, and can probably find the reference, that he taught at U of Chicago law school for three years, teaching "diversity" law. And during those three years he never once wrote anything. As I recall it was a Chicago Sun Times article.

I'm becoming convinced that he was a plant, a tool of some self-interested sponsor like perhaps Soros or King Saud, who bought his way through schools. My friend suggests that there were probably several guys like Barak being groomed at the same time.

You’re right. I guess the Federalist Papers were written back in the days when our politicians each had a pair, figuratively speaking of course.

I guess the parts that stuck out it me are:
“A nation, despicable by its weakness, forfeits even the privilege of being neutral.”

“This situation [defense of commerce with adequate power]would even take away the motive to such combinations, by inducing an impracticability of success.” Or don’t even think about messing with our merchant ships unless you feel like disturbing a hornet’s nest.

Exactly. And BoyBarak is, by his despicable weakness and indifference, creating a climate in which this incredible powerhouse of a country is being treated like we're all wearing those kick-me signs. Not my style!

Sorry, I must be getting old. I left those two out. Here's a thought. We can send Joe (foot in mouth) Biden there maybe he can bore them to tears with his lies and they'll let Captain Phillips and the ten other hostages go.

She's been snorting that fairy stuff again. Everything is laughable then.
Does anyone really believe that only Bubba has a nose like a vacuum? She's been right there with him all the way.
