the limits of the world's most power(ful) military

The military ain't the problem here. It's the no good, stinking, lily liverd, POS CIC. The SOB is going to get a bunch of us killed.

Please help add more so I can update this. If there is another event that happened within a particular President’s term (hostages taken, military killed in actions regarding the crisis, etc...), give me the info and any pertinent links. Still working on it and adding information...

For starters, there's the sinking of the Lusitania, the Sussex, and other ships by the Germans during the Wilson administration, as well as the Black Tom Island blast in 1916 that has been linked to Germany. During FDR's tenure, the Japanese sank the Panay in 1937, and a German sub sent the destroyer Reuben James to the bottom in 1941.

Hoo- boy! I didn’t think we were going back before World War 2... LOL...

I’ll have to look the stuff up. I’ll take a break in the meantime, though... :-)

[.. I’ve got it noted...]

At this point, Obama would have to come to my house and pee on my leg for me to have a lower opinion of him.

And even then, I wouldn't be surprised.

0bama’s sentiments are with the Moslem Somalis.

After that Genuflecting to King Abdullah, keeper of the Two Holy Mosques of Muhammadanism, 0bama’s going to have a reawakening of ‘his Moslem faith’ and revert.

No TRUE U.S. Citizen would bow to “the keeper of the holy mosques” ~~~ much less forget that the Declaration of Independence says: ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL.

In a 1774 report to King George, the Governor of Boston noted: “If you ask an American, who is his master? He will tell you he has none, nor any governor but Jesus Christ.” The pre-war Colonial Committees of Correspondence soon made this the American motto: “No King but King Jesus.” And this sentiment was carried over into the 1783 peace treaty with Great Britain ending that war, which begins “In the name of the most Holy and Undivided Trinity... .”

Perhaps you have heard some of the French jokes that have come into vogue in recebt years, supplanting the Polish jokes of yore:
Q. What's the title of the French national anthem?
A. "I Surrender, Dear."

Q. What's the bestselling book in France?
A. A Farewell to Arms

Perhaps American jokes will now start coming into vogue.

CHESTER

Let tyrants shake their iron rod
And slavery clang her galling chains;

We’ll fear them not. We trust in God;
New England’s God forever reigns.
Howe and Burgoyne and Clinton, too
With Prescott and Cornwallis joined,
Together plot our overthrow,

In one infernal league combined.
When God inspired us for the fight
Their lines were broke, their lines were forced,
Their ships were shelter’d in our sight

The foe comes on with haughty stride,
Or swiftly driven from our coast.
Their vet’rans flee before our youth
Our troops advance with martial noise.

And generals yield to beardless boys.
What shall we render to the Lord?
What grateful offerings shall we bring,
And praise his name on every chord.
Loud hallelujahs let us sing.

(William Billings, c. 1777)

Retired U.S. Ambassador Robert Oakley, who was special envoy to Somalia in the 1990s, said U.S. special operations forces have drawn up detailed plans to attack piracy groups where they live on land, but are awaiting orders from the Obama national security team. "Our special operations people have been itching to clean them up. So far, no one has let them," Oakley told the Daily News. The veteran diplomat, who also was ambassador to Pakistan, said teams of Army Delta Force or Navy Seals "could take care of the pirates in 72 hours" if given the order to strike."They have plans on the table but are waiting for the green light," Oakley said. A Special Operations command spokesman at McDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL, declined comment.
