He would feel right at home doing “community organizing”
in Kenya!
Point taken—JFK was bad enough, but his death put LBJ in-and that was the beginning of the end.
Yeah, that was a great series.
My dad wasn’t Italian, and was 50 lbs lighter than Tony, (and wasn’t in the mob)but otherwise, apperance and in some ways personality-wise, he was a dead ringer for Tony.
BTW—it goes without saying to others who didn’t see the episode-the neighborhood in Newark was no longer Italian—it had become “vibrant” with “urban flava”
PS to Doc—Is Little Italy in Cleveland still good? I bet it’s still in decent shape-sure hope so. I hung out there a bit 9-10 years ago—Mama Santa’s Pizza—that’s living....
One more thing—I know the place is a sewer of political sleaze—and they have what seems to be 100 square miles of some of the worst ghetto I ever hauled a$$ through with my gun on the front seat next to me, ready to go.—But Chicago is in many ways one of my favorite cities—I’ve met many great people there-the food-the bars, the cultural amenities etc. and so much more. I love NYC— and there’s no place like it-but Chicago is pretty damn close.
