I get a general impression of the Obama’s not being fully aware and engaged as to who the Queen is, what she stands for, etc.... I think its beyond their grasp, historically speaking. They seem to be people of the moment and The Queen is “just another head of state or something or other”. To publicly present her Maj with an IPOD (imho) is not a cool move, perhaps they could have done that in private, you know, leave it on a dressing table with a card or something./s/
It just doesn’t seem dignified for one head of state to give Her Maj something Made in China .
It would have been a real hoot if the Othugo’s had given her the sheet music and lyrics to “The Star Spangled Banner”, now wouldn’t it?

Somehow or other, I just don't think that Queen Elizabeth and Princess Di got on all that well. I imagine that the relation beetween the Queen and the First Lady will be similarly cool.
