The H1B program needs to be suspended for a minimum of 3 years if not permanently abandoned.
The middle class is being killed from both ends. On one side you have cheap illegal Hispanic labor and on the other you have imported cheap H1B labor.
Go to college! Get a technology or engineering degree! Why bother? Either your job is going to be offshored or your company is going to import Habib for 1/3 of what they are paying you.
I refuse to believe that Americans cannot be retrained or that there is simply not enough technology and engineering types available to fill these positions.
The H1B has been and continues to be a ruse.

If I had enough money I'd put a big billboard in the heart of Silicon Valley saying...
UNEMPLOYED?
thank you local congressman for the H1-B program

Foreign workers are cheaper, they don’t have HUGE student loads to pay off! They usually live cheaper. If you have to fired them, they go back overseas!

I am opposed to the H-1B program, but this claim is problematic as proof that Americans are not beind considered for a job:
One corporate want ad states, 'We will not consider Green card holders'
That is not proof of not being willing to hire Americans - to the contrary, it could indicate that they will ONLY hire full American citizens.

I put my resume online and was called by 3 companies. Each of them was an H1B making the call. I went to an interview at 1 and there where 20 h1bs on the team and the manager admitted they hire them to keep costs down.
This program needs terminated immediately. My company has fired over 15k US workers to replace them with foreign workers. Yet still reported profits. Why do they do this so the damn CEO and other executives can get their damn bonuses. Which by the way have been suspended for all other employees. With the bad economy and all.

Having spoken to immigration lawyers, the want ads are a joke. The description is so absurd as to be impossible to find a legitimate applicant.

No green cards, and no work visas until further notice. We have enough unemployed of our own to look out for. We do not need to be importing foreigners for employment purposes. As to the engineering and technology degrees, the Leftists, headed by Bill Ayers and his ilk, have taken over public education and ensured that American kids are unprepared for that kind of education and those jobs, although they know a whole lot about saving the Earth. H-1B is Exhibit A in the case of how Congress’ priorities are perverted to the point to favoring foreigners at the expense of American citizens, and have been for decades. I cannot make that observation without adding that this is to a large degree the work of Senator Splash, whose point person on open borders and amnesty is now in charge of policy at ICE.

I find it incredible that you people actually attempt to justify selling out Americans. Offshoring is one thing, but importing foreigners just because you don't want to pay an American a respectable salary? I guess foreign doctors are cheaper too and they take less time to complete their education. Shall I schedule one for your next surgery or would you like the guy who actually has a clue?

Bill Gates was one who pushed for such workers in the past.
33 Billion dollars in personal wealth and he still doesn’t have enough.
I loathe million, er BILLION, dollar Marxists.
He can do with his money as he sees fit. He used his wealth to lobby how the government spends my tax dollars.

It’s now becoming incestuous as these companies are hiring H1B MBA’s which intern hire more H1B’s as in the example you provided.

American ski professionals are also getting SCREWED by all the foreign instructors imported on H2b, and the totally bogus Q-1 visas. The foreigners are almost always used AHEAD OF FULL CERTIFIED AMERICAN INSTRUCTORS. VAIL RESORTS (VRI) is a prime example of this abuse! AMERICANS MUST WORK FIRST!

No American business is obligated or required to " pay an American a respectable salary", other than the silly minimum wage law. Businesses don't exist to provide jobs and salaries. They exist to make a profit. If foreign workers are less expensive to hire, it's not the fault of the business that wants to hire them. You may have a valid point on the H1B's, but take it up with the lawmakers.
