If I remember right, Chavez was a 3rd gen American and was very much against illegal immigration. In fact he lead a march to the border demanding that the INS close it.

By Any Means Necessary BAMN is a Maoist front group run by an Asian guy who makes Bill Ayers look like a choirboy.
Everyone on this thread needs to understand that this is a major hardline racist, Communist organization with two goals in mind...kill or drive "whitey" off the North American continent and take over any property they had for redistribution to the non-white "victims" of the evil nation created by the Blue eyed Devils....
Sr. Lula Da Silva expressed similar sentiments the other day, but in a more oblique fashion.

What people don't know is that when the workers were unionized they got lower pay and lost their free housing in the central valley.
The only reason that the farmers signed was that Chavez aligned with BofA and that no farmer could get a crop loan without a signed union contract.
All the marchers and protesters weren't farm workers, they were organized by 7 of the 8 Catholic parishes in east L. A. that were in the district that I ran for the Assembly in 1980.
