So far I’ve only seen it on Car & Driver website.......so I guess it’s hold yer fire until confirmed.

Oh, you KNOW this is going to happen. Obama and his Chicagoland bullies know too well who voted for them and against them and NASCAR fans are on the sh*t list. They will do everything possible with their federal power and new-found influence to punitively harm those "not with 'em." This one fits perfectly, and there will be many more.

Wait until the gun control and taxing ammo agenda is displayed for all to see.

We'll be watching solar powered electric go-carts at Daytona within five years.

You were ahead of everyone with that prediction. Mr zero is going to be in a world of hurt with Nascar fans.

With no more cars and no more track owners, our pastime is just about toast.

Gordon continues to drive National Guard’s message
At Texas, No. 24 car will spotlight GED Plus program

http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/business/03/31/jgordon.national.guard.ged/index.html

FORT WORTH, Texas — Four-time Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon has been racing in NASCAR for almost 20 years, but there is one thing that still sends chills up his spine: prerace festivities. There’s just something about the first note of the national anthem that gets Gordon’s adrenaline pumping.

“There’s hundreds of thousands of people standing there getting ready to watch the race with their hands over their hearts,” Gordon said. “They’re looking at the American flag and then the flyover — I don’t think it gets any more patriotic than that.”

Gordon and his Hendrick Motorsports team have a chance to share their patriotism publicly this season by featuring National Guard community-related initiatives on the hood of the No. 24 Chevrolet in eight Sprint Cup Series events.

The National Guard’s mission is to use the No. 24 car as a platform to help create awareness on some of the special programs it has to offer. These programs provide such incentives like job opportunities, valuable career training, college tuition, salary and benefits and the guidance needed to excel in life.

“The more I get to learn about the National Guard and what they have to offer, the more impressed I am with what they are doing.” Jeff Gordon

This is gonna be two weekends I won’t be home to watch NASCAR. I missed last Sunday’s race because I was working a club race at Sears Point and will be at Laguna Seca next weekend for a vintage race weekend (and possibly some rain, yuck).

One of our SCCA flag chiefs works for Sears Point and had some pictures of a brand-new Audi RS4 that had been totaled at the track. Audi has a program where you can pick up your new car at any track where the Jim Russell Racing School runs and take a few laps. The owner of this RS4 drove it into the wall at Turn 11 at around 110mph; he hit hard enough to break two posts on the catch fence, bend several other posts, and flip two sections of K-wall around so hard that they swung around and hit the sections they were attached to. The driver’s okay, but they had to cut the whole left side of the car off to extricate him.

And then on Sunday while I was there, we had a GT2 car hit the wall in T11 only a few feet from where the Audi went in on Thursday. He didn’t move the wall as far, but it did break two posts on the catch fencing (the same two; they had been spot-welded back together). We had to finish the day running the “short” T11 they use for motorcycles and IndyCars.

I gotta tell you, blue-flagging Formula Atlantics from the end of a K-wall just a few feet off the course will really get your blood pumping!

I missed Martinsville and will probably miss more. We just finished our second Civil War Living History reenactment. We do an artillery demonstration for the kids, teachers and parents on a Friday with 2 full battles on Saturday & Sunday.

My wife and I really enjoy being very involved in this hobby.

Pizza for everybody!

An undated handout photo shows workers assembling pizza vending machines in a factory in Trento. A vending machine that bakes fresh pizza in minutes for a few euros has got Italian chefs in a whirl before it hits the streets in the coming weeks. The bright-red "Let's Pizza" machine uses infra-red rays and technology developed at the University of Bologna to knead flour and water into dough, spread it with tomato sauce and a choice of topping, and cook it -- all in less than three minutes.
