This makes my blood boil!
First, the violent, armed robber survived! Shooter should be sentanced to more range time!
Second is the shoddy journalism. The dentist didn't open fire on a simple purse snatcher....
HE OPEN FIRED ON A VIOLENT FELON (OUT ON PAROLE) HOLDING A GUN TO HIS WIFE'S HEAD!
If he was a simple "purse snatcher" he would have simply strong armed the woman, but he was there and ready to kill her.
Be sure to contact Andy Davis on his shoddy journalism at:

You da man!
Instead, Davis said, she would recommend that people cooperate with the robber and be a good witness, paying attention to what the robber looks like, remembering what he says and making note of the weapon he uses and the vehicle he drives.
Watch out Doc...the Little Rock Mafia may still be alive and well.....
I'm sick of these crimmigrants coming in here and breaking our laws.
I don’t get it....the man is a dentist and should be use to drilling people in the head....
....Lousy sense of direction Doc.
“We want people to be sheeple.”

I hope he shot him in the behind from the front! It’s bad form to shoot from behind, ya know.
“dentist pulled out a .357-caliber revolver”
Now, this may sting a little ....
This was obviously written by an anti-dentite bastard.
What a crock!!!
what if this guy just up and walks out? is there a cop watching him?
as for the SGT, as they say in England, "piss off!"
No doubt she got to her position thanks to affirmative action.
All I know is that every criminal needs to have a sidekick named “Tequila Rice.” That’s better than “The Sundance Kid.”
It sounds like Dr. Pace-Antonetz was following Catholic Teaching on Legitimate Defense.
From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
2263 The legitimate defense of persons and societies is not an exception to the prohibition against the murder of the innocent that constitutes intentional killing. "The act of self-defense can have a double effect: the preservation of one's own life; and the killing of the aggressor. . . . The one is intended, the other is not."65
2264 Love toward oneself remains a fundamental principle of morality. Therefore it is legitimate to insist on respect for one's own right to life. Someone who defends his life is not guilty of murder even if he is forced to deal his aggressor a lethal blow:
If a man in self-defense uses more than necessary violence, it will be unlawful: whereas if he repels force with moderation, his defense will be lawful. . . . Nor is it necessary for salvation that a man omit the act of moderate self-defense to avoid killing the other man, since one is bound to take more care of one's own life than of another's.66
2265 Legitimate defense can be not only a right but a grave duty for one who is responsible for the lives of others. The defense of the common good requires that an unjust aggressor be rendered unable to cause harm. For this reason, those who legitimately hold authority also have the right to use arms to repel aggressors against the civil community entrusted to their responsibility.
Not likely. Those idiots cannot even kill each other. They spray and pray and I never see them at the range.
I'll take my chances and just shoot.
Yes, but in all cases the thug gets a bullet in the ass, he just flees
When I go shopping I take out my check book and all credit cards except the one I am going to use that day (whether it is one check, a debit card, or a credit card). I just carry one of those and put it in my pocket. If I am going to write a check, I take my drivers ID and put that in my pocket. I put my keys in my other pocket, not my purse.
All that is in my purse is kleenex and a pen (and maybe some candy and lint!). I bother to even carry the purse, because that is the target robbers always want. If someone wants to grab my purse, I can freely let it go. They won't get much, and I will be safe and can hurry to unlock my car and get out of there fast. They won't even have my address or any information from ID cards.
Mothers with small children should particularly do this, as well as senior citizens. It took a while for me to get used to doing this, as women like to have everything handy. But it sure makes me feel much safer.
When the police ask what did the robber look like, "Well he had a wig and hat ..." will make for a nice positive ID won't it! Truthfully, the police are between a rock and hard-place on this. I would like them to advise restraint but also to congratulate the good Dentist on potentially saving his wife's life as well.
The unsaid benefit of this is to remind all potential bad guys that there are armed citizens in the populace and that a lawful life reduces that occupational hazard. I know that this felon will bear the memory of this to his grave!
