When my two children were quite young, I taught them my own version of the three gun safety rules. The topic came up in my daughter’s class, and she told the teacher she knew what the rules are:
1. Treat every gun like it’s loaded (the teacher agreed).
2. Never aim at anything you don’t intend to shoot (the teacher was a little nervous but said OK).
3. When you shoot...shoot to kill (THAT one apparently drove the teacher right over the edge).
Must have been a liberal teacher!
