AARP is just another left-wing pressure group that has conned a bunch of older folks into giving it money. AARP will put up no resistance to its new socialist overlords.
I surveyed doctors, pharmacists, friends and neighbors regarding plans to avoid. Different areas may have different plan details, but United provoked a storm of obscentities whenever it was mentioned, and a litany of bad experiences.
But, then,I have serious Second Amendement issues with AARP, anyway, and have been throwing out their mailings for a LONG time, now. So I guess I do not have to concern myself with it.
I wrote once and asked them how they felt about the two local 80-year-old unarmed sisters who were beaten by a burglar so badly that bones in their faces were broken, and never got a response. They keep mailing me junk, though.
I agree with you.
AARP does a very poor job of checking out the companies that they endorse. AARP just wants their cut of the premium money.

My folks belong to AARP their propaganda (newspaper) seems pretty pro-Obama and government run health care.

I did not realize they too were floating down the river nirvana that is filled with O flavored koolaid...how sad since the group they “represent” are not going to like how much they are being left behind to essentially go out to pasture by the D-party...

Obama and his Socialist comrades in Congress are intent on destroying private medical insurance. They want all doctors, hospitals and patients to be dependent on the government. Therefore, Obama is opposed to the private Medicare Advantage plans.
If the Socialists get their way, everyone will have to call 1-800-Obamacare to receive treatment. This will result in fewer doctors and hospitals, long waits for care, poor quality care, and lack of freedom of choice regarding the care of our own bodies. In addition, the research and development of new drugs and medical procedures will come to a screeching halt. Government does not innovate; it pushes paper and puts up roadblocks to innovation.
I have recently chosen an Aetna Medicare Advantage plan. Aetna has been extremely helpful. One of their guys spent 45 minutes on the phone with me, explaining the options, etc. Anyone can find their info online.
