Marxism is a worldview. Actually, it is a subsection under the worldview called Secular Humanism.
The answer to the four basic questions all humans ask will be the outline for the worldview; worldview being the basic assumptions of life that all information is filtered through before digestion.
The four questions are:
Who am I?
Why am I here?
What's wrong with the world?
How can what's wrong with the world be made right.
Christianity would be a worldview that answers those questions from a Theistic assumption.
Secular Humanism, and all of its subgroups, would answer it from an Anti-Theistic assumption.
The worldview will be guided by its views in five catagories. They are:
1) View of God
2) View of man
3) View of truth
4) View of knowledge
5) View of ethics
I think you’re argument is semantic, then. After all, what is called “Darwinism” today bears little resemblance to actual Darwin-style Darwinism. Same way with Marxism - the philosophy has evolved beyond its Hegelian roots as it has been expounded by later “thinkers.”

snip: this is a multi-generational plan, very complicated, and working on an advanced understanding of the human psyche
Spirited Irish: You’re absolutely right. The advanced understanding of human psyche they utilize is based on man’s fallen nature. In short, they ‘lead into temptation and sin’ in order to enslave and reduce man to the level of beast.
Marxism should be seen in context as a 19th century Materialist response to Hegel.
Spirited: While it is a materialized version of Hegel’s dialect, we need to dig deeper and begin with the fact that Hegel was a pantheist and his dialectic was a magic-formula based on the idea of divinized and/or immanitized history. In other words, history is a ‘divinized entity’ that predetermines specific events and outcomes.
Pantheism is paganism, or more specifically, it’s monism, the ancient idea that all things are ‘one’ with and/or merely extensions of divinized nature. In this system, man loses his individuality; he disappears into and becomes ‘one with’ Nature.
Monism is like a coin, it has two sides. One side is pantheism and the other side is materialism. Hence Marx’s materialism is paganism disguised as science. By extension, dialectical materialism is both immanitized matter (divinized matter) and Hegel’s pantheist dialectic materialized.
Thanks for the ping!
Jeepers, another right-wing nut!!! LOLOL!
Absolutely first-rate article, Linda! Thank you ever so much for sharing your prodigious research with us.
And yes, truth and the courage to live in truth are the only ways to defend against this scourge of systematic, anti-human and anti-God lunacy. It's like a metastasizing cancer on the Body Politic.
Thanks ever so much for the ping, TQC!
And they all know who each other "IS"...
They can smell each other out.. like dogs..
Socialists have always wanted world domination..
If America "goes" they'll get it too..
Socialism, like democracy, is MOB Rule.. by mobsters..
The Anarchists may have "WON"..
Egads!!! Free Republic is full of ‘em!!!
So very true. But America is WORTH DEFENDING. So let's roll up our sleeves and get busy!
Also, we can lift our prayers to God, that He will continue to bless America.
Than you so much for your excellent essay-post, hosepipe!
I join in your prayer for this country!
God bless Free Republic!
In no country in Europe has the great social revolution that I have just described [democracy & social equality] made such rapid progress as in France; but it has always advanced without guidance. The heads of the state have made no preparation for it, and it has advanced without their consent or without their knowledge. The most powerful, the most intelligent, and the most moral classes of the nation have never attempted to control it in order to guide it. Democracy has consequently been abandoned to its wild instincts, and it has grown up like those children who have no parental guidance, who receive their education in the public streets, and who are acquainted only with the vices and wretchedness of society. Its existence was seemingly unknown when suddenly it acquired supreme power. All then servilely submitted to its caprices; it was worshiped as the idol of strength; and when afterwards it was enfeebled by its own excesses, the legislator conceived the rash project of destroying it, instead of instructing it and correcting its vices.
It strikes me Tocqueville is describing the course and the fate of the 0bama revolution we see sweeping through the American polity, as though he possessed a glass permitting him to gaze from his day to this day. But, many have observed that particular talent residing in this amazing Frenchman.
In the movie Gettysburg there is a scene where a hard-bitten, red-headed sergeant of the Union Army and Gen. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain come across a frightened slave on a deserted battlefield. They pick him up, determine that he is unhurt, send him on his way, and fall into a conversation about freedom and equality. During the course of that conversation the sergeant observes that he is not fighting for equality, but for the opportunity to prove himself the better man. That is the nut of the issue. I dont know if such a conversation ever took place between Gen Chamberlain and one of his NCOs, or if it is a story made of whole cloth, but it is a perfect summation of the American Spirit that Tocqueville so wonderfully describes in his incomparable treatise. It is a spirit that 0bama, and those of his ilk, will never understand, and that men and women such as Frank and Pelosi dare not allow to flourish, for it is a fatal poison to their ambitions.
Thanks for the ping!
My husband and I have been students of the Civil War since both of us were teenagers (I daresay more than forty years ago). Joshua Chamberlain has fascinated us perhaps more than any other participant in that war. One of our most prized possessions is a copy of the book Maine at Gettysburg, published in 1898, from Chamberlains personal library. It is inscribed with his handwritten signature on the first page, Joshua L. Chamberlain, Bvt. Maj. Gen. U.S.A.
In that book is recorded, among many other fascinating recollections of Maines participation at Gettysburg, General Chamberlains address at the dedication of the 20th Maine monument in October of 1889, a portion of which follows:
On great deeds something abides. On great fields something stays. Forms change and pass; bodies disappear; but spirits linger, to consecrate ground for the vision-place of souls. And reverent men and women from afar, and generations that know us not and that we know not of, heart-drawn to see where and by whom great things were suffered and done for them, shall come to this deathless field, to ponder and dream; and lo! The shadow of a mighty presence shall wrap them in its bosom, and the power of the vision pass into their souls.
This is the great reward of service. To live, far out and on, in the life of others; this is the mystery of the Christ to give lifes best for such high sake that it shall be found again unto life eternal.
The situation in which our beloved republic finds herself in early 2009 is tragic beyond comprehension. Some believe the real tragedy lies in the fact that those who played the major role in causing our downfall are now claiming the moral right to author self-serving solutions of their own making. They are like an adult child, having administered small doses of arsenic to his mother over a period of time, sitting by her bedside in the hospital, shoving a myriad of papers at her as she lays dying, and demanding that she sign over everything she owns to him, so that he can find her a better doctor.
But as evil as that egregious circumstance is, it pales in comparison to our leaderships desecration of those about whom Chamberlain spoke.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans, from the last part of the eighteenth century through the first part of the twenty-first, have voluntarily laid down their lives in the name of liberty. I daresay that all of those hundreds of thousands of Americans placed more value on allegiance and duty than any of those now in leadership in Washington.
We know almost none of their names, and yet they purchased with their lives the freedoms that ensured that we transform, with a sense of historically unprecedented conviction, thirteen beleaguered colonies into Ronald Reagans shining city on a hill.
And now, fewer than six hundred self-serving scoundrels, incapable of comprehending the powerful measure of love and devotion that wells up within the heart of an American patriot, have succeeded in stealing that precious, hard-won inheritance and turning it into something black, dimensionless, and without a soul. And they are seeing to it that there will be no turning back. Expanding their base. Answering mightily to their special interests. Demonizing, even silencing, their opposition.
And we have no one but the American citizen to blame. His apathy. Ignorance. Self-centeredness. Ingratitude. Hedonism. The fewer than six hundred were placed into power by a band of adoring mental adolescents, who simply want to be allowed to go to the mall, download music/noise, and worship celebrity.
The mall/noise/celebrity fountain will continue to pour forth, while the nuts and bolts of a free society, faith in the Almighty, the sanctity of individual liberty, the concept of personal responsibility, and the belief in reward for thrift, ingenuity and hard work, are being cast aside in deference to gods who are nothing more than the creation of evil men.
The American patriot knows that He expects His followers to hold fast to His teachings, but He does not always promise us earthly victories. More importantly, He prepares a place for His believers, where joy and glory are eternal, and the heartache and pain that the evil of this world creates will become nothing more than a faded memory of a time when men believed they reigned supreme.

There lies the rub... Who is an American citizen?..
Any insurgent crossing our borders?.. with wet backs or tickets on an domestic airline?.. anybody that resides in some local area?.. Who is a citizen?..
Now there is a question almost never asked.. At the root lies the "give me your huddled masses" phrase.. Cause that lies at the root of the problem.. and it is a problem.. Huddled masses from every despotic sink hole on the planet as un-controlled insurgents.. Not only from Mexico and greater latin America.. but from Africa, the Mid East and Asia..
People that have only known despotism or anarchy functioning as "citizens".. You know most of the people on this planet.. Imported and watering down the goose that has layed the golden egg.. i.e. America.. Forcing American citizenship on them(amnesty) is blurring the lines of what a citizen even is..
The only logic I can see in it is (them) replacing the millions of lives that abortion has stolen from true citizens.. for economic impact.. Abortion that "the citizens" have burdened themselves with..
And some say abortion is a moral issue.. NO.. I say abortion is an economic issue.. its even a espionage issue.. Espionage in the sense of change to the body politic.. A Trojan Horse issue.. New "citizens" with not a wit of faithfulness to America.. Abortion is the root cause of it.. Americans aborting their next generation.. Who is to replace them?... The aborted CITIZENS?.. Insurgents from the hives of the world.. with a hive mentality.. To whom socialism seems quite normal and healthy.. The test cases are in Europe.. England, France, Germany, the Netherlands.. have become a seething hive..
God's justice is perfect.
Each of us, individually, build the scales whereby we will be judged. (Matthew 7:1-3) And all of our self-serving decisions and deeds will be revisited to us. (e.g. Proverbs 11:27)
We've seen this justice play out in many socialist and communist countries. And in the US, for instance, the financial obligation of the growing population of pensioned baby boomers will fall squarely on the heads of the mall denizens who worship celebrity or themselves or any thing other than God.
And the price for the folly of turning this nation away from God by the elected and appointed powers-that-be will be paid by not only by them but also by those who empowered them to drive the very mention of God from public facilities and to force the faithful to contribute to abominations through public funding.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Psalms 2:1-5
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father's hand. - John 10:28-29
And as a distant second priority, love our neighbors in a large part by getting to work. Do everything we can to inform them, help them see what has happened, what awaits and help them to understand the true importance of their vote.
To God be the glory!
Like you, I am an admirer of Gen. Chamberlain. If the nation owes its continued existence to any one man (other than Abraham Lincoln himself), that one man would be Chamberlain. Had the 20th Maine, under his command, not prevented the rebel forces from turning the Unions left flank, Gettysburg might well have been lost, and along with it, the Union. The movie presents an outstanding dramatization of that action. In fact, I think it the movies finest moment.
Before an effective strategic defense can be mounted, the enemy must be clearly identified. On the basis of that claim and in response to a poster who observed, “Marxism should be seen in context as a 19th century Materialist response to Hegel,” I wrote:
” While it is a materialized version of Hegels dialect, we need to dig deeper and begin with the fact that Hegel was a pantheist and his dialectic was a magic-formula based on the idea of divinized and/or immanitized history. In other words, history is a divinized entity that predetermines specific events and outcomes.

Though brief and speaking here of Cultural Marxism, this exposition identifies the metaphysical foundations of All of modernity’s ‘isms’: progressivism, positivism, evolutionism, Marxism, socialism, Bolshevism, Jacobinism, and todays’ variant, dubbed by Fonte as Transnational Progressivism.
Now Steven Plaut has published an evaluative essay in which he writes that Marxism is a pagan religious cult. Read it here:

As I said previously, if we’re to mount an effective attack against this demonic system, we must begin by identifying and exposing its pagan and yes-—superstitious-— foundations. Just as this demonic system has been attacking and destroying the Judeo-Christian foundations of the West, so too must we launch our counter-offensive against its foundations. Only by exposing this evil to the Light of Truth, will it be destroyed.
In just a few short paragraphs, you have constructed a scripturally-based pathway upon which every American Christian must maintain his focus during these troubling times.
And your advice/guidance in your last two paragraphs are words to which we must adhere, no matter the cacophony occurring around us.
We must remain faithful to His teachings, make constant use of the most powerful tool (prayer) with which He has provided us, and never cease to remember that, no matter man's folly, He is in control.
I completely agree with your second ('distant priority') assertion, that we must do all that we can to educate and inform. I have discovered that, especially since the election of Barack Obama, there is just too much to cover anymore in attempting to awaken people to the crimes occurring in Washington. So I have adopted a much simpler, less specific, approach in that I am simply attempting to educate people about the true definition, origin and value of liberty, asking them to look around themselves and determine for themselves in what ways their liberties are being infringed upon, and then determine whether they are worth defending, and how such defense should occur. It has become a monumental task to attempt to inform people about specifics, and I have found that simply urging them to unearth those specifics on their own, and then determine whether, and how, action might be necessary, seems to result in more people responding with other than an overwhelmed, blank stare.
Thank you, again, for your beautiful, God-centered advice. His blessings to you and yours, dear Alamo-Girl!
