Like I said, put some alcohol on it, bandage it and wrap it to stop the bleeding.

If, in two days you still have issues, see a doctor.

Holy crap! I could gopher one of those!

Actually, these are better for gophers. Place one of these at the entrance to each hole in the yard and rig for simultaneous detonation. Works every time.

I would wear some shoes next time. Maybe boots.

if he has problems with a shotgun, a claymore might be a bit much, don’t you think?

I keep them fit by running them with a red laser pointer. They love chasing the little dot around the yard or around the house.

I'll try that with my roommate's Rat Terrier...

Two of my Rat Terriers are tree climbers. I have pictures of them 6 feet up into my Austrian Black pines. I can tell when they have nailed and eaten a squirrel. It leaves a "fishy" smell on them. They have taken birds as well. I keep them fit by running them with a red laser pointer. They love chasing the little dot around the yard or around the house.

Yes! The laser! Ours LOVE that thing! We figured out something very strange though with the laser (a sight in our case)... chickens are TERRIFIED of it! We go out back and let the Rats chase it and terrify the chickens. Cheap entertainment! :-) We've trained the Rat Terriers NOT to chase chickens though...and they're very good about leaving them ALONE.

We always know when ours have killed some hapless creature because they always seem to keep part of it for later. I never know WHAT I'm going to find on my back porch! :-)

I have nothing at all to contribute here. But this afternoon we found bed bugs in our son’s bed. Just thought I’d creep everyone else out so they can’t sleep either...

Oh, I'll handle this one. For bed bugs, these work every time. Make sure the kiddies are out of the bed first.

Well, they bled, not profousely, but for a while. Frankly I didn’t think it hurt badly enough to have been any kind of deep penetration....but then I’ve never shot myself before. It stung, it still feels a little tingly, but it doesn’t really hurt. The bleeding stopped. One of them is right at side of my fibula, so it wouldn’t have had anywhere to really go, the other is a little higher and more in the fleshy area. I can put pressure on them both, and don’t feel a thing.

You are awul, Capt’n!

Boric acid is no longer sold in drug stores or anywhere else except online. I bought five pounds of the stuff for $8, but the shipping was $30. It killed the invasion of the crickets this year. Everyone around here had them.

I was wondering what you use to get rid of the rat terriers.

(ducks, runs)

Not the slightest bit interested in the red dot.

Colorblind?

I've got a friend who raises Jack Russells. Neat dogs. Very high energy, bouncing off the walls, though. Wouldn't want to end up prey for a pack of them, little piranhas when on the attack. Tough to imagine one more wound up than that, I'd imagine they really are leaner.

I have been hit by a shotgun ricochet. When I was young I was hunting with my brother and a friend in a construction junk yard when a rabbit ran towards us and between us. I did not fire, nor did my brother, but our friend did. The shot went through the rabbit, ricocheted off the broken up rock ground, and hit me in the leg. I had two pellets embedded in me. I pulled out my knife, flicked them out ( which wasn't very painful) and went on. It was lead shot and I had a visible scar for years from it.
