I will never forgive him for “see you at the signing!” remark as well as the “rascist” comments.

” Bush cons:

Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz—first term of war on terror
Tax cuts have an expiration date
Harriet Miers—tragedy narrowly averted
Medicare expansion
No child left behind
Poor communication/unable to inspire confidence
Not prepared for banking meltdown”

A big Bush backstab you forgot to mention:
* People who care about secure borders “don’t want what’s best for America.”

Bush was doing fine until the price of gasoline went up. Then everyone blamed him and the media saw blood and did not let up.

The 2006 elections had independent people hating Bush and they did not even know why. Congress was usurped by the left and Bush was helpless to do anything after that.

OK, so he goofed with Meiers. And he has his fathers genes as far as being a poor communicator. But the banking meltdown would not have happened if the republicans had control of congress.

Don’t forget a failure to educate and lead on a Conservative philosophy. Kids in this country are brainwashed from day one to believe a socialist philosophy. If we don’t start a little brainwashing of our own we are doomed.

Rumsfeld was not excellent. He opposed the surge, for one thing. As for the SCOTUS, I gave him credit for Roberts and Alito, but the Miers thing has to be mentioned. It remains inexplicable. As for Bush’s dead or alive comment, he later negated that comment by saying getting Bin Laden was not important. As for the banking mess, his administration was caught flat-footed.

Bush was already yesterday’s news by the time gas prices went up last summer. And you’re just wrong about the banking failure. It was coming either way.

Bipartisanship is simply being complicit in Democrat lies.

Rumsfeld won the war in Afghanistan in short order and the war in Iraq in 39 days. Not bad for a failure. Of course he did have a little help; America’s forgotten hero Tommy Franks and a couple hundred thousand of America’s finest.

McCain was a pawn of the Media.

Could you do us a big favor? Research and list which States have open primaries?

The Reagan coalition was a coalition. That means it was a mix of people with different values in one coalition. it had western individualists, conservative Dem's, business people. religious conservatives and moderates. We are now just a few country clubber back stabbers and small town Conservatives. we need to recognize that their are different cultures in this country and each one of them has different needs and values. we should also recognize that each one of them produces their own unique conservatism. we need to draw that conservatism out of them and connect with it. We also need to find ways that go beyond the conservative-liberal paradigm and do things that are outside of these definitions but are not incompatible with most of the conservative values (Giuliani was good at that).

In using the phrase “conservative Republican alternative,” I referred to ideas and policies rather than to political figures. As Obama falls out of favor, the public will become more receptive to the alternatives that we offer.

In fairness, Cornyn is not a RINO. Like almost all candidates and officeholders, he is fallible and prone to double-talk to meet the apparent needs of the moment. More important is that Cornyn has a 94.60% American Conservative Union rating based on his votes in the Senate. If all members of Congress had such a rating, we could sleep much easier.

FROM 2007 “Open Letter to Members of the GOP” by Columnist JB Williams
- In recent years, the GOP has fallen into a trap of monumental proportions. They bought into the “big tent” lie that demands they be spineless, non-committal chameleons capable of changing their ideological colors with the shifting political winds. They bought the notion that in order to win national elections in America, they must negotiate and compromise with their political enemy across the aisle...
Americas most devoted and dangerous enemy today is our enemy within.
