The wrong comes when these “facilitators” know that the consensus they are pushing for will ultimately be harmful to those who don’t have the skills to push back against such techniques. The analagy would be getting a “wanting to be loved” insoucient 6 year old to steal candy despite his concern that he would get into trouble by telling him HE WOULD BE A SISSY if he didn’t do it.
Everyone wants to “be like the gods”; knowing “good from evil” or at least some facilitator’s spin on what “good and evil is”! To procede with attempting to persuade using that tactic can be morally bankrupt and intellectually dishonest (even if the goal would seem to be morally benign) if the persons to be pursuaded are presumed to be of limited intellect or insoucient in terms of the ways of wider society. In short, God will judge fiecely those “wolves” who take advantage of rubes and misfits to their harm!
It might be a valid question at an event how-ever to come right out and ask...”Are we working towards a goal you and your group have predetirmined is correct...I thought we were here to simply air our grievances and hear your proposals about the sewer line at “anyplace” road?
This technique has been in place for quite a while. National Peoples Radio comes to mind.
