Democrats Mull Politicizing Iraq War Intelligence

Fox News has obtained a document believed to have been written by the Democratic staff of the Senate Intelligence Committee (search) that outlines a strategy for exposing what it calls “the administration’s dubious motives” in the lead-up to the war in Iraq.
The memo, provided late Tuesday by a source on the Committee and reported by Fox News’ Sean Hannity, discusses the timing of a possible investigation into pre-war Iraq (search) intelligence in such a way that it could bring maximum embarrassment to President Bush in his re-election campaign.
Among other things, the memo recommends that Democrats “prepare to launch an investigation when it becomes clear we have exhausted the opportunity to usefully collaborate with the [Senate] majority. We can pull the trigger on an independent investigation of the administration’s use of intelligence at any time — but we can only do so once ... the best time would probably be next year.”

If it wasn’t Friday night and I wasn’t rewiring my home theater , I could find a dozen liberals who said they either wanted President Bush in prison or even to die. I’d say that’s worse than saying they wanted his policies to fail.

Dems fail to back Reid’s ‘Iraq war lost’
Several leading Democrats said this week that they did not agree with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s recent statement that “the war is lost” in Iraq, even while they support his broader message.
But they did agree that Reid’s wording was clumsy and potentially damaging. Even the Nevada Democrat himself appeared to be backing away from his remark.
Jim Manley, Reid’s spokesman, said earlier that the “war is lost” comment was not in Reid’s prepared text for the news conference last Thursday. But from now on, Manley said, the senator will “couch it more”: The mission in Iraq is not working and must be changed.

I listen to Air America on XM for kicks sometimes. I've always disliked comedians who think they are smarter than you. Her show is boring and very unfunny. They replaced some dude named Lionel with her. Lionel was a lefty and I disagreed with his viewpoints 90% of the time but I enjoyed his show. I do find it funny that the lib talkers have been running around saying that they would have great ratings like Rush if only they could get on 500 stations. The funniest thing is Randi Rhodes is off the air because another network she moved to seems to have gone belly up.
