I was cool with Michael Steele until he defended the Nazi Germany thing.

“You’re a liar. Steele never said he wanted the GOP to be more hip-hop.”

Ad hominem attacks are so unbecoming, especially when you are horribly wrong:

I would call you a disgrace, but your posts already reflect that about you. Have a good day.

Another lie. He never agreed with anything of the sort. Being ambushed in an “interview” is not agreeing.

Where did the “like Nazis” thing come from?

Give the guy more than a month.

Yep. Let's give him more time to advance his agenda.

“Society should draw lines. What do you need an assault weapon for, if you’re going hunting? That’s overkill. But I don’t think that means you go to a total ban for those who want to use gun for skeet shooting or hunting or things like that” -Michael Steele

Rush was stating a fact that conservatives would not be giving to the RNC unless Steele proved to them it was worth it to do so. Any 10 year old kid could figure that out.

Rush’s statement was NOT incendiary, but real. It was NOT ugly but stark. Rush was NOT being entertaining but informative.

“Just what Obama and the Democrats want: Republicans to shoot their own.”

####

So if Steele is “one of our own”, I guess he is a Nazi too then.

I hate to say it but the Conservative movement is dead in the Republican Party. I know what a long struggle it will be to find a new home but we have to start somewhere and sometime. The Republican Party has been leading the Conservative movement nowhere.

I don't know? Libertarian? Constitution Party? A new party all together?

Oh....I agree. My comment was only that Rush was not instructing us to not give to the RNC. I was listening that day and it didn’t happen.

Steele was set up but he wasn’t misquoted.

Speaking only on my behalf, he blew it. I wouldn’t trust a thing out of Steele’s mouth any longer and I wouldn’t mind him resigning.

But Rush accepted the apology so Steele will be going nowhere for now. Calls for resignation from these members are therefore irrelevant. More so coming from a known Dawson supporter in which it would be interpreted as political and not a call based on conscience or performance.

Since he’s going nowhere, the only recourse is for members behind the scenes to make it quite clear what is and is not expected of him and force him toe that line. As well as aid him in the areas he clearly lacks competance in. He’s not the President of the United States. He’s an RNC Chairman elected; not selected by a GOP incumbent. This gives memebers more sway to dictate his agenda especially after this misstep. They need to do so.

This Conservative hasn’t given in years. I do give directly to candidates I like. I won’t have my money go to RINOs through the Party.

How was he misquoted ?
I saw the clip on television.
He said what has been attributed to
him.
He is inept. Typical Republican mess-up.

Shove your “good day”. Doing the bidding of Democrat hit squads puts you in the enemy camp.

Like they did not forgive Sarah Palin for her subpar interview with Couric. I am concerned about Steele being perceived being an apologist for the Messiah. I am willing to give him more time to grow into the job but he better stop being an apologist for Obama and his agenda. That would be a deal-breaker for me. If in two months he is still carrying Obama’s water I will call for his dismissal. Mr. Steele, shape up or ship out!

Just what Obama and the Democrats want: Republicans to shoot their own.

Listen pal, Steele brought this on his own. His ridiculous coments about the GOP going after the "hip-hop" crowd was completely laughable. No doubt that Democrats snickered when they heard this crap. Then he goes on Hughley's show, again just to show liberals that he's "keeping it real" and wants them to think that the GOP is not a party of old boring white guys.

I don't care what the Dems think about our infighting. I never liked Steele, he's your typical Republican who spouts empty platitudes and rhetoric instead of brand new ideas and fighting for conservatism. Personally, the job should have been offered to former NM Governor Gary Johnson, a solid fiscal conservative who could have brought in small libertarians into the GOP and unite to defeat the Dems.
