If I tried to make this up I couldn’t do it. If I wrote this as a screenplay I’d get laughed out of Hollywood. The Secretary of the Treasury shown to be a tax cheat stating he’s going after tax cheats?
ROFLMAO!

The other thing that bugs me about these high-level tax cheats is that when they are caught it appears the penalties and interest are usually waived.
Two sets of rules?

There needs to be a website which will collect analogies about Tim Geithner going after tax cheats.
Having Tim Geithner prosecute tax cheats is like appointing Ted Kaczynsky to be your secretary of Urban Planning.
Having Tim Geithner prosecute tax cheats is like appointing Rod Blagojevich to be Jimmy Carter’s international election supervisory agency.
Having Tim Geithner prosecute tax cheats is like appointing Bernie Madoff to the Office of Thrift Supervision
Having Tim Geithner prosecute tax cheats is like appointing Hillary Clinton to work out a deal between the Palestinians and the Israelis. Oh wait...
Having Tim Geithner prosecute tax cheats is like putting Barney Frank in charge of the Catholic Church Council of Choirs.
Having Tim Geithner prosecute tax cheats is like appointing Bill Clinton to the Bd of Directors of the American Sorority Association.
Having Tim Geithner prosecute tax cheats is like appointing Roseanna Barr to President of the Director’s Guild of America.

Geithner paid interest, but not a penalty. Rangel needs to go.
