So if they pass this bill for quasi-statehood for DC - including the gun law that the NRA supports - and subsequently the statehood bill is found to be unconstitutional and repealed, does the more relaxed gun law in DC get repealed at the same time?

They knocked out the 30 & 60 day restrictions from McCain-Feingold.

There was another Freeper who lost all his reloading equipment in a boating accident.

This whole bill is a dodge. Its unconstiutional on many levels. The dems are playin us.

Democrats Pull D.C. Voting Rights Act

I don't have a problem with the NRA doing the right thing. Pelosi blinked.

“The D.C. vote bill needs to pass,” said Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-Calif.), a Blue Dog gun-rights supporter who sits on the House Rules Committee. “I would have concerns about any group who would tell us how to run our House.”

Listen you POS: It's our House! The People own the House, the Senate, the White House, the Supreme Court building and any other government buildings. You only get to do that which the People have authorized you to do. Read the Constitution for details. Specifically in this case, Article I, Section 2.

It did sound like a set up, but it’s not so far fetched that it’s obviously a joke. I can’t decide whether she’s well intentioned idiot or an evil genius.

ND you’d only win a battle in a bigger war. I am so pro gun it would make your head spin. But this f’d up bill isn’t anything near a bill we should support. Its the libs slippin in so much lib crab while you get hot and bothered over a minor gun rights victory. Like I said. We are getting played.

See comment# 43. Unconstitutional provisions can be challenged later. What would someone need to have standing?

Some perspective here. This proves the Obama-rat juggernaut can be beat. I'm not sure whether to count it as the Doolittle raid or Guadalcanal, but it may turn out to be historically important. Alas it's not Midway (although that could come if Ø is foolish enough to take up Rush's challenge!)

These types of freeper losses are happening all too frequently lately.

If this trend continues, soon there won’t be a need for more gun control laws as the evil guns and ammo will all be gone.

sadly

"D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D), the House’s most passionate supporter of District voting rights"

I find it highly amusing that someone who is trying to garner more power unto herself is painted as compassionate about the issue in which she would receive more power. It's like saying I'm the most passionate supporter of myself being promoted president of my company.

As an aside, I want to say kudos to the NRA again and would like to use this as another de facto example of how the NRA doesn't exist to criticize other 2nd amendment rights groups. The NRA exists to fight for our rights and continues to do so every day. I don't really like bumper stickers on my truck because I have a nice truck. I have one sticker in my rear window. The NRA and I'm proud to be a member of this fine civil rights organization. You want to piss off a liberal, tell them that America's oldest civil rights organization is the NRA.

These liberal politicians should already have a very strong sense that the country is very pi$$ed with 0Bama spending like a drunken housewife gone wild with her estranged husband's credit cards.

With entire investments & savings stocks gone to the crapper the last thing they need is the gunowners and the NRA breathing down their necks.
They should remember that they had their collective a$$es handed to them after the 1st Gun Ban during the Clinton years and this time around they country is angrier for 0Bama war on the working class, investors and businesses!

Since when do Liberals give a damn about the Constitution? Sometimes they use it as a tool, but generally they would just as likely implement their agenda without it.

Remember their favorite ploy is to say that the Constitution is a LIVING DOCUMENT and therefore they use that angle to spin it to say whatever they want it to mean, mostly 180 degrees opposing from what the wording reads.
