While accurate, it omits two of the most important elements of the whole sordid process: lying and sanctimoniousness.
“How’s our grandfather?”, the grandchildren ask. “Fine. He is resting comfortably and should be returned to you soon.”
One hour passes.
“How’s our grandfather?”, the grandchildren ask. “Fine. On payment of his bill, we will ship his body to the funeral home of your choice.”
“What? He’s dead?!?”
“Certainly. His condition was authorized no treatment. You wouldn’t want us to have to deprive children of care, just to keep a terminal old man alive, now would you? That would be inhumane and illegal.”
“But he only had a broken foot!”
“We are not authorized to waste expensive diagnostic resources on elderly, low quality of life patients. The millions of dollars it would have cost to set his foot in a cast are better spent providing prenatal services to guest workers.”
“But he only had a broken foot!”
“Yes, and there will be an additional charge because of the damage he did when we tried to administer his end of life medications. It took four people to hold him down long enough to insert the IV.”
Some say it is too early, while others say it's too late.
Either way, what Obama proposes is nothing short of state-sanctioned murder, and I do not plan on being murdered without putting up a fight!
The first thing we apparently received is a better education than the one you received.
We found jobs and then worked hard for everything. I am still employed, earning a living. It seems that your generation is the one that "is used to getting everything they want", which is our fault.
Go whine with someone your own age.
If you feel someone standing at your shoulder, it is me.
My apologies. In my haste I wrote baby boom generation when I really meant the 60’s generation. And while you are absolutely right that there are MANY who have worked very hard for what they have, the over all culture has become of what I talked about.
I did receive a bad education as I was taught by your generation. That’s another thing you are guilty of! :)
We baby boomers are over-age milk cows now. We’ve been milked by the tax laws as we are all “rich” and are drying up. The only value left in us as what our carcases will get when rendered—the inheritance tax to strip our estates.
My kids especially recieved a "bad education" at my hands. Of course, they enjoy making all of that nasty stuff. ;-D
It is distressing to see the condition of this Nation. Like yourself, I know that something needs to be done; however, I'm at a loss for what to do.
I can't run anymore, but I can shoot pretty darn well.
#2 I think you are right.
The best part is that most will believe that they died for the “common good.”
______________
BULL SH*T. No they won’t and their kids and grandchildren won’t go along with that no matter what party they belong to. The Communist lefties will but always remember, as of now, they are NOT the majority.
I’m not 65...yet...But you will not be alone Agent Wolfie...That’s all I’m saying, because I probably wouldn’t have much to do anyway, so I might as well contribute to the change...
Right???
;-)
The solution will be to set an upper age limit and summarily remove them from existance to prevent such a occurance...”
I remember a scene where Logan is interviewed by an executive committee prior to his undercover run. All its members were well beyond the 30 yr limit.
These geezers felt the same way.
“Marxism ( i.e. Socialism ) considers them “Useless eaters.” They’re expendable - “For the sake of the greater good.””
Damn, that’s how I consider politicians and government bureaucrats.
I've read that the Dept. of Health and Human Services will be taking public opinions for 30 days on the proposed rescinding of the conscience rule, but I have not been able to find where one goes to post a comment with HHS.
Can anybody out there post a link to a HHS comment site, a phone number, fax number, or mailing address?

White House to Rescind Health Worker Conscience Rule
A Bush administration rule that gave broad protection to health workers who refuse to take part in abortions or other health care procedures that conflict with their beliefs will be rescinded by the Obama administration, The New York Times reported.
The last-minute Bush law was announced on Dec. 19 and took effect the day President Obama took office last month. On Friday, the Department of Health and Human Services served notice that it will repeal the regulation, the Times reported.
The official notice of the Obama administration’s intent is expected to be officially published next week. After that, there will be a 30-day period for public comment.
I haven’t seen the actual notice for the comment period. Will post as soon as I do.
Thanks, thanks, thanks. Thanks to every poster. Great thread.
