“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States

I can peacefully express my criticism of the government.. it is my right. I do not spit on this country.. I Served it with pride for almost 24 years..

But I should be able to criticize the government when they are spitting on the constitution that supposedly is the document that guides our country.

Amen Kitanis...I couldn’t agree more.

The Founding Fathers gave us a “Constitutional Republic”, a system based on laws founded and ratified by all the people of the many states. They also gave us a method to amend the laws as needed as our society grows. These laws are designed to guarantee and protect our rights and freedoms as Americans.

The rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution is what our soldiers fight and die to preserve. As a veteran I can tell that is why I served and both my Brothers and my Father and my Son and many others of my family..especially my uncle who was wounded at Pearl Harbor.

Patriotism is not about who is in office at the moment or whether we agree, it is about love of country, our people and what it stands for, ie the Constitution. It is about the will to fight for these freedoms no matter who is in office or whether I agree with their politics or not.

That is why it is important and why it annoys me and other true patriots when someone asks “Why does obeying the Constitution annoy you so much”.

Please sleep well in the freedom that you enjoy. Many, including the Founding Fathers, put everything, including their lives, at stake for your freedom and many have done so and are doing so this very day.

bastion of far-right group-think, anti-free-thought and attempted career assassination (aka mass organised stalking), Free Republic.

I don't believe "group-think" accurately describes us. What do you guys think? I'll go alone with whatever you guys say is correct. Now, as far as "anti-free-thought", that is totally bogus. No one who thinks that way should have their stuff posted here! But what really galls me is his saying that we attempt "career assassination". That is so totally wrong. He should be fired for writing that.

"Dissent is Patriotic" per Hillary Clinton

Could you come up with a reputable source?

Given the choice of Hillary's dissent, or Biden's claim that paying higher taxes is patriotic, I'll go with Hillary. By our VP's standards, I'm already far too patriotic.

BTW, I'll take either one over the Community-Organizer-in-Chief's "I won (so worship me)".

According to Wiki:

Eva Orner (born 1969) is an Academy Award-winning Australian film producer. Her works include Untold Desires (winner of Best Documentary at the Australian Film Institute Awards, the Logie Awards and the Australian Human Rights Awards), Strange Fits of Passion (nominated for the Critics' Award at the Cannes Film Festival and Taxi to the Dark Side (winner of the 2008 Academy Award for Best Documentary).[1][2]

Orner grew up in Melbourne, Australia and was educated at Mt Scopus Memorial College and Monash University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1993.[3]

Orner, along with actress Cate Blanchett, was one of only two Australians nominated for an Oscar in 2008. Most commentators predicted that Michael Moore's Sicko would win the Best Documentary category. However, to the surprise of many, Orner's Taxi to the Dark Side, which examines US torture practices in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, received the award.[4].

Within hours, Orner created controversy by describing the US Government as "a bunch of war criminals".[5]

So, not surprising.

don’t worry, Obama and the Democrats are going to gut that amendment the same way they are gutting the 9th and 2nd amendments.
