Surely you know the troll method: fake like you’re a conservative in all areas except that of your target.

In this case the target is Jindal.

Rush is as phony as Willard.

Please cite some examples of Rush being a phony with regard to conservative, limited government principle. By "phony," you probably mean that he disses drug addicts while becoming addicted to a prescription drug, himself -- nothing to do with limited government principle, everything to do with officious intrusion on the rights of free people to live as they please behind closed doors providing it doesn't involve enslavement, abuse, or worse of another person under that roof.

Romney is phony with regard to conservative principle, 100 percent phony, you've got that right; there's plenty of ways, through Romney's words and past, to illustrate and prove that phoniness.

Please share with fellow FReepers illustrations proving alleged phoniness on Rush's part.

How can you say that Rush “supported” Romney and Giuliani in the primaries????? That is rationalization at best, a bold-faced LIE at worst. You, like Romney supporters, interpret words of praise for some particular aspect of a politician, to outright support or endorsement, and you do so WRONGLY.

Rush has bashed HillaryCare for years but I never heard him mention what a disaster RomneyCare is.

When Rush white washes Mitt’s record, while attacking his opponents, I take that to mean he supports Mitt.

Did Rush ever criticize Mitt for RomneyCare? How about his extreme anti 2nd amendment position? What about his promise to confiscate SS from ‘the rich’?

Its ridiculous that you can’t see that Rush wanted Romney to win.

If Rush had wanted Romney to win, why didn't he make a statement about him along the lines that he did of Fred Thompson? The only time I've EVER heard Rush praise Romney with any kind of enthusiasm was over Romney's Religion in America speech, and that was about religion in America, not about conservative principles.

I remember hearing Rush talking about some of the things Mitt said and/or did, playing clips of what Romney said during the primary debates, and following it up with the warning to listeners, "Folks, this is not conservatism." I guess you didn't hear that show -- I did, but admit I wouldn't know where to get transcripts. During the primaries, however, I listened to Rush as much as I possibly could, and adjusted my schedule so I could tune in more than usual. It was crystal clear to me that Rush held Romney in pretty low regard. That you concluded Rush wanted the guy to win is beyond me to figure out.

I'd love it if Rush bashed RomneyCare in Masachusetts. I'd love it if Rush bashed Mitt, period. He doesn't, but then, other than Thompson, whom he clearly preferred, Rush really didn't bash any of the other candidates beyond the same measured criticism he doled out to Mitt, that I recall, except McCain he criticized with quite a lot of passion, but then again, unlike the other candidates, McCain had been a pretty major player in national politics.

In all the years of listening to and reading Rush (and I admit that I cannot be a regular listener to the show -- I have to make a living and can't always tune in), he has never once disappointed me with regard to articulating conservative principle. Not once. Hannity, Ingraham, Hewitt, Medved, Dennis Miller -- they have all often said things that revealed a flawed grasp of conservative principles as I learned them from my dear Pop. But not Rush, and I've listened to him about four times more often than any of those others.

When something walks like a duck and talks like a duck and you ask me to believe its actually a worm ... pardon if I remain skeptical of your assertion.

Anyone who uses the word “rino” is part of the problem. That is purging people from your own party. You obviously don’t see how dangerous the Democrats are to the future of this country if you are hell bent on purging people with names like “rino.” Republican in name only isn’t the problem. It is so twisted to accuse people of being in name only. It seems like right out of the communist play book. It is so damaging to the Republican Party. You should never purge people, that is something the communists do and it sounds like one of their tactics. But I am afraid the damage has been done. We have allowed them to set the tone for our party with all these damaging attempts to purge people. Who is the real enemy? Who is really dangerous? Is it some guy like Romney? Get real, get a grip. The real dangerous people are Obama and Pelosi. But keep on purging people from the Republican Party, that sounds like a really good game plan. How twisted can people get. You are fighting the wrong people. You are handing the country over to the enemies. Stop worrying about people in the Republican Party, they aren’t your problem.

(sarc) You are right. We need more Democrats in the GOP. That’ll help get us back on a Constitutional track. Right? (/sarc)

People aren't what endanger us -- BAD IDEAS endanger us. As people, Pelosi and Obama are wimps that you and I could clock with one hand; they're dangerous because of their IDEAS. Republicans who promote and enact policy based on the same bad ideas are just as dangerous.

Get real, get a grip.
