Has the United States government ever executed anyone for dressing immodestly? Or disrespecting one's elders?
It wouldn't matter if you did or didn't. You've already said you don't know.
actually, it is NOT prohibition there...It is welfare given to areas that don’t condone alcohol. Plus they have MASSIVE education/preventive and treatment programs way wya wya out of proportion to what we do.
You might want to have a look at what's been going on in Washington before you start making argument implying that it's safe to assume the US government won't do anything it's never done before.
At the risk of getting flamed for my screen name ( which refers to recovering from liberalism) and told to “go back to your bong” statistics show that a very large percentage of americans use marijuana socially with no ill effects, morally, financially, legally etc....I will support you’re reasoned posts.
The fact that the vast majority of white, middle or upper class NEVER get arrested or do any jail time, leaves poor minorities which then become the melodramatic poster children of drug use.
If suddenly within a month all those types ( white upper class )not previously arrested WERE taken in, pot would become legal overnight.
So the huge hypocrisy is that we continue to drive drugs underground, destroy countries south of our borders, encourage crime and yet, those that are in the majority of pot users that are NOT arrested let this charade continue.
Alcohol and pot are about equal, with alcohol being somehwat MORE dangerous. Yet we do not prohibit alcohol.
My IRA lost over 50% of its value, Iran and Korea are ready to send us nukes, we have millions of illegals, abortion continues unabated....and the Puritans want me to continue the failed WOD???You have got to be kidding.
maybe you are confusing pointy-headed intellectualism with intellectual honesty
Welcome to single-issue land.
“Do you want to continue this from a biblical perspective?”
No, it’s not relevant to the issues.
That's the problem. It ought to be.
I meant that it wouldn't be easy to gain wisdom. And you're right, I don't know anything and I don't pretend to.
“That’s the problem. It ought to be.”
You can certainly be guided in what you believe by the bible and pressure the government accordingly. And, you can try and convince me what is in it should be the basis of law, but once you demand certain things be banned because the bible demands it, you are establishing a religion that all people have to accept whether they like it or not.
And yet you suppose to educate everyone else.
lol!!!
So you are a Utopian fascist. Got it. At least you are truthful. Many try to hide it.
“...use marijuana socially with no ill effects, morally, financially, legally...”
What about the idea that willfully violating the law in this way leads people to believe that it is OK to ignore the law? What about the fact that the marijuana supply line is a violent lawless murdering entity which takes over more of America each year? You choose to ignore these ill effects? Or do you believe that they are OK?
Thank You. Another reason to love FR. I'm so sick and tired of 90%+ of responses to my civilized discussions being simply "you're a doper...dude...you're so dumb" with the stereotypical doper hippie accent.
"Communism is perfect! The only problem is that no nation so far has practiced true Communism!"
Man, rarely has a handle been more apropos -- only someone who's been living in a cave on the moon could be so out of touch with reality here on earth.
Frofit?! EWWW YUK YUK ANTISOCIAL UNMUTUAL EWWWW EWWWWW!!!
