but talk of open revolt or even civil disobedience is crazy. If any groups ever attempted it, they would instantly be labeled terrorists by both the government and the media, and most Americans would then see us as the enemy.

In addition, you need to look back on history, just a few years. Open mass civil disobedience and violent protest quickly ended wars this country has been involved in. Right or wrong.

One side, probably the minority of Americans were responsible.

You need to understand, the only reason the government has any power at all up to this point, it because citizens have allowed it.

.... I guess back in the day the British Army looked too powerful also but a “ragtag” Contintental army fighting with the right tactics won

Muskets and canons, vs. the firepower available today? No chance.

Who has that firepower? The military? If it ever reached that point, our military would be using it on DC, not patriots and families. Obama knows this.
The day I knew for sure that he was up to no good was the day he said::

We need a Civilian police force, as large, as well armed and as well funded as the military.

Ask yourself, why would we need that? He always wanted to cut military spending and just did. He wants a military of millions loyal only to him, chosen by him. Why?

I was at a place where we could hear security forces training with their automatic weapons the other day. I quipped - “I hope they’re on our side when the Ship hits the fan.”

I’m not sure - but wasn’t it FDR (maybe Hoover) that had our troops march into a camp of WWI vets that were camped out in DC and killed a bunch of them as they dispersed them. The vets were owed something like a dollar for every day/week (something) that they had been in the service but had not been paid it. So, they all went to DC to camp out as a protest.

Not sure what has changed in the meantime that would stop active military from firing on vets like that.

I defiitely would support Petreus - But he’s still in the military and they are not allowed to be involved in politics!

Wouldn’t it be awesome though! We need some real heroes!

Beck is right in that it is outrageous. He is wrong in that anything will happen.

The asylum is now being run by the inmates. Those of us who work for a living and who believe in the Constitution and Liberty are the enemy.

Hussein is right: It is going to get worse. And when HE says “before it gets better”, it only means better for him.

IMO.

We’re talking NATIONWIDE, in the year 2010!!!!!

Not some hick town during the depression!

Do you have any idea the size and scope of a national action?

The chances of them getting enough “troops” to cooperate at a national level is impossible.

What’s going to happen out there when the police and fireman don’t show up for work because the government can’t pay them?

This is why people are buying gold.

And what will American grown despots use to keep its citzen’s in line? Certainly not a volunteer army that they couldn’t trust not to mutiny when told to shoot Americans.

Short of nuclear black-mail, the beltway folks could do little to stem a restive population from asserting their
rights. I suspect in the end that’s what would happen, a few tactical nukes used in the less “desirable regions” to cow the rest of the nation into order...Ayres would get his wish to have about 25 million Americans killed!

No disrespect but do you honestly think people WANT armed conflict in these United States? I couldn't imagine a faster way to destabilize society than something like that.

Unfortunately, yes there are some, hence my pointing out that revolutions rarely end well for those that start them. This is all part of the failed public relations war. In addition to all the other things the GOP has failed to communicate is that like a skunk even if you win a fight with us you won't come away for the better. The people in Che t-shirts need to be reminded exactly what happened to Che.

People who have read history, and understand what it means do not fight to "Win" something, we fight because what we loose by not fighting is greater that what we loose by fighting. The left is spoiling for a revolution because it is fashionable.

Where is the front of the line? It is about time to take back America.

The front line is the still contested US senate seat in Minnesota. It is clear that the Democrats are attempting to steal this election.

The left wing is attempting to overturn an election with some stuffed ballots. The front line of the cultural war is not allowing such corruption of an election to happen.

Fregrads,

Glenn Beck is just trying to stir up ratings. There will be no revolution. Americans simply do not have the stomach for it anymore,

The will when the economy tanks and "goes Argentina," and their somachs are EMPTY.

and the federal government is simply too powerful to defeat in a military confrontation.

Who said anything about defeating it? BTW, look at how powerful the USSR's military was compared to its population. Yet when their economy collapsed in 1990, that unpaid out of gas military was helpless to prevent the breakup of the USSR.

Whatever the Domestic Security Force does.... will be in accordance with the current law. Therefore, the military will have no reason to intervene on anyone’s behalf.

The way I approach this in my new novel is to split the military. During a terrible depression, the president's utopian brownshirts organize a constitutional convention, and the new constitution enshrines virtual communism. But half of the nation rejects the new constitution as false and invalid. This causes the loyalty of the military to be divided between the original and the new consitution. That's when the country comes completely unglued. Some regions will be loyal to the president and the new constitution, other regions will reject his authority. It's only fiction, but it's a way we could see the military fracture, and then all bets are off. There's a long excerpt here that details the bogus constitutional convention, and how this could come to pass.

Excerpt here.

So if I said "Give the democrats enough rope and they will hang themselves." would that violate any of the rules?

It was Hoover - they were called the “Bonus Army”.

The force that dispersed them was led by Gen. MacArthur and Maj. Patton.

I agree. Just the possibility of mass protests will influence the direction that those in power choose to take.

the only reason the government has any power at all up to this point, it because citizens have allowed it.

Truer words have never been spoken. "We the People" are the ones responsible for this mess.

I have already talked to my children about this out of control spending and explained to them that they are not responsible to pay for it. The government can impose as many tax increases as they wish, but if the tax burden is insufferable, who will pay the bill?

Understand that forced labor is a violation of our basic rights....

AMENDMENT XIII

Passed by Congress January 31, 1865. Ratified December 6, 1865.

Section 1.

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Involuntary servitude, look it up. My kids have no vote on this package of pork, they are going to be taxed without representation.
