Remember the amber waves of grain?

John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Revelation 13:7-10

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

NBC correspondent Jamie Gangel highlighted a batch of new Obama merchandise and enthused, "And the whole world is apparently going Obama."

Daniel is not considered a prophet in Jewish belief. That makes sense, as Daniel was a passive observer to visions, not one sent out to deliver messages to the people.

However, as far as the Gentiles are concerned, that's a whole 'nother matter. Daniel most certainly was a prophet... to the Babylonian kings. He gave them prophecies in the dream interpretations: the statue, the tree, and finally...

The HANDWRITING ON THE WALL that foretold of the king and kingdom's *immediate* demise. Daniel even went so far as to explain the lead-up to the message on the wall; i.e. it wasn't something that came without reason or warning.

The nation - of all the nations on earth that should have known better - has chosen to praise the gods of silver (kesef = money) and government at its own peril. If the shining city on the hill is darkness, how great is that which is considered darkness.

Along the 175-mile stretch from Monticello to Gettysburg—designated by Congress as the official "birthplace of America"—intriguing details of our nation’s past emerge from every town and byway.

Journey Through Hallowed Ground: Birthplace of the American Ideal

When ye therefore shall see the Obamanation of desolation, (truly, handwriting on the wall as a sign of impending doom), stand in the hallowed ground...

The scene is familiar, like the king of Babylon profaning the holy vessels and giving glory to the false gods. Everyone on this forum recognizes that this Obama character is moving swifty to destroy this nation and everything sacred about her, as he absolutely loathes the American spirit and American ideals with every fiber of his being. In short, he wants to strip America down and make her desolate and naked. The window into the future has always been the little nation of Israel. As goes Judea and Samaria (West Bank) through her own government traitors, so goes America. For the Jew first, and then the Gentile (or the Greek, as in democracy).

Daniel 5:24 Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
Daniel 5:25 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
Daniel 5:26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
Daniel 5:27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
Daniel 5:28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

Man the life rafts and keep the faith.

The despair may be a little excessive. The United States survived the Civil War. It survived Franklin Rosevelt. I dare say it will survive Barak Obama.

No it won’t. Sit back and watch.

Obama is not dumb. He knows exactly what he is doing. He’s been groomed for years to take America down

I believe that as well.

Given Europe what it's wanted. Are they complaining now?

"America – what have you done?!"

You have the nerve to ask?

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with
human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition,
revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only
for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

You are too optimistic I fear, we have long forgotten our roots.

“We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it.

We’ve staked the future of all our political institutions upon our capacity
to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”

[1778 to the General Assembly of the State of Virginia]

While I've never done it myself, or seen it done for that matter, I've read that if the individual committing Hari-Kari is off by just the slightest fraction with the knife, the wound is so debilitatingly painful that the person can only lie there in agony until dying of shock or bloodloss, usually about an hour or two later.

Sadly, the United States has to endure this painful agony for another three years, eleven months, and two weeks.

You answered your own question, and in the same paragraph:

How did we get so many sick Americans?

.. they are little spoiled kids who never grew up.

BHO is showing the arrogant swagger and demeaner of someone who he, “himself”, is truly convinced to believe he is the Golden One, the Savior and Messiah the Dems have protrayed him. He’s also showing signs of believing he is a “Ruler” rather than a President and more & more like a Dictator. He’s more accustomed to delegating and ordering than actually working himself. He prefers someone else do it so he can play yet have all the glory. Everyone says he is very smart...SMART? What truely with the sense God gave a goose would surround himself with and nominate for such offices the type of people he has? I believe he is simply a puppet for Rahm Emanuel(he is really running the show) and George Scoros. They pull the strings, he reacts, He does a great job of lip sync to the prerecored speeches they have him do. Any Honest, yes I said “HONEST” President who really wanted “Change” wouldn’t be surrounding themselves with types he is. I have noticed that with each of “his” nominees there is a problem of some sort, or they have abosutely no experience and will probably gum up the works with dastardly mistakes and yet when asked about them, he insists the are “good” people, he “stand behind” them (he’s smart there, I wouldn’t want to be standing in front either)and just sluffs the entire matter off. He is the President and I will give the office the Respect it deserves, but I intensely distrust him, he is dishonest,I have absolutely NO RESPECT for the man. So little respect I would not shake hands with him if given the chance! Yet when I first saw him while he was still in Illinois and then elected to the Senate, I thought to myself, what an intellegent young man who was going to go places as he seemed to be genuine in his desires to “work for the people”. Just shows to go ya’.....He’s no different after all except maybe a bit more presumptuous and a lot more arrogant.

Remember he was “threaded” through the same “machine” as so many of the corrupt politicians of Illinois, being woven into the same piece of cloth; yet the new section looked different, brighter, shiny, new, with special “shiny” threads running through his swatch. Since it looked so beautifully different from the other swatchs woven together; everyone clamered around and wanted to show off the “special” section and praise how beautiful it was. After months of traveling around the country being touted as so special and such a change from the old fabric the machine had produced before. Highly promoted and widely advertised the new, shiny fabric waved and flutted on stage amazingly promising new hope, almost everyone wanted to buy. In November it went on sale, making so much it was placed in a highly respected place of honor. However, alas, after all the wear & tear of waving and fluttering, being touched and caressed by hundreds of thousands, the commotion finally settled down and suddenly when the fabric started to work, it looked in the mirror in horror; desparately hoping no one else would notice that the bright colors had faded, the shiny threads had tarnished so; it looked idential to the other swatches. Not being “special” any longer, it slowly faded into and became just another piece of the whole where it could no longer be distinguisded from the others.

I won’t get started on what is supposed to be “his” stimulus package and his speech the other night about how it has to been done and done NOW or we’re going to have a catastrophe and almost yelled; I Won, WE WON! My poor TV will never be the same. ;)

Thanks, but I know I am merely pointing out the obvious. Heck, when secular society perceives this presidency as an Obamanation, and America as the Obama Nation, Daniel's interpretations are clearly on center stage. A little while ago I went on a rant about Noah (forget which obamanation thread that was, you'll have to click my screen name). I realized that the stories have a common theme. That is, both the ark and the handwriting on the wall were plainly visible, but noone under judgment understood the significance. There's an overview here about the theories on the handwriting - how it could have been disguised.

However, history teaches that men learn nothing from history, so why should it have been disguised at all? I suspect that the writing was not written to confound the reader; rather, it was written plainly, even in such a way as to magnify and clarify its meaning, not hide it. The king and his guests would have seen something like "measure, measure, weigh, divide" and not connected any dots. Daniel was the only one in the crowd who could learn from history and see the obvious.

This is the most famous suggestion, but I think it went something like this:

מנא מנא תקל ופרסין with the first letter of each word enlarged, or this:

מנא

מנא

תקל

ופרסין

with the first letter of each word enlarged. That way the first letters would have spelled out the letters mem tav which spell "die". Not sure if the congugation in Aramaic would have been the same, but Daniel read it okay.

And then of course is the imagery of Obamiochus Epiphanes and his porkulus: sacrificing the wages (and futures) of hard-working Americans by burning it up as pork.

They are Obamanations of desolations, one way or the other. They all paint the same picture.

Very thoughtfully written. I agree that we might be seeing a glimpse into the real person that has been shielded for the most part during his time on the political main stage.

I remember during the primary campaign and general election campaign period when it seemed as if tantrums were a response to any opposition that could not be refuted. I believe he is in way over his head and were the DBM actually doing its job, press conference questioning directed at the inadequacies already present in the administration would further reveal his petulant attitude. Remember how offended he was when his experience as a community organizer was mocked at the RNC convention. We were told that even Jesus was a community organizer, thereby establishing that any criticism would be tantamount to criticism The Christ himself. I find that to be utterly ridiculous. But, those who quickly defended the 0ne with such an offensive comparison themselves are wanting in their faith and belief, IMO.

He is not his own person, he is a manifestation of the hard left, created from 60's radicals, nurtured and grown into the idolic vision they have had to contain for many years. When has there been a president where we have not known the most intimate of details of their life story that had elevated the individual to the highest office in the land? We know relatively nothing of his past aside from that which we have learned on our own, not from pseudo responsible sources as prescribed by the first amendment for the free press. The founding father in the infinite wisdom knew the first amendment was necessary as their intention was for the free press to actually be a check on government. It goes without saying, as enablers, the DBM forfeited their constitutional role and helped elect the radical.

I am an eternal optimist. However, all things being equal, a realist at heart and in that sense, I have genuine fear for the future of our beloved country as I see the first three weeks of this madness as a window into the future. A future that will reveal a country that might change forever as we have known it perhaps able one day to rectify the damage but, nevertheless, one that may change in a way that would not be recognized by our parents or grandparents.

This is not change for the better for the country and its citizens. It is change that will appease those who seek the destruction of the free society created by the founding fathers. Where else on this earth and when was there a free society such as this created that existed or exists even today? This is the modus operandi of the left that not only resides in this country but, worldwide....

I say, FU England. You guys didn't say critical word one about Obama during the 2-plus-year campaign.

You carried his water and hid his flaws just like the treasonous US press here.

Now is way too little, too late.

Go kiss some Muzzie asses, you wankers. Your joke of a nation is toast, and this time we are NOT coming to save your worthless bums.

Melanie Phillips, the author of this piece is a notable exception to your observation. She has been critical of Obama and raising questions of his candidacy from long before the election.
She was also quite supportive of Sarah Palin during the same period. She really is an exception to the common slobbering-over-Obama media types on both sides of the Atlantic. You will probably find that her columns, new and archived, are worth reading.

Here is a link and an excerpt from a September 17th column by Melanie regarding Obama's seedy associates and his tactics in silencing critics:

The Long March To The White House

"As reported here, Camp Obama is resorting to ever more outrageous attempts to silence the questions that are mounting about the past associations of the saviour of the planet. Given the sheer volume of information that is now available and the deeply disturbing questions this all poses, the astounding reluctance of the mainstream US media to ask those questions is a scandal which has itself become a major political issue."

And here is a link and excerpt from an even better column published on September 12th ripping Obama and his staff for their all out attempt to destroy Sarah Palin:

Stasi Tactics From Camp Obama

"Andrew Bolt in Australia’s HeraldSun entertainingly fisks the media's attempt to destroy Sarah Palin by pouncing upon her first TV interview on foreign affairs to find out whether she knows who Putin is. As Bolt shows, the joke however is on them.

As James Taranto writes on the WSJ blog, the Obamasphere is descending from hysteria to depravity by using Palin’s decision actually to give birth to her son Trig as apparent proof of her unfitness for office. When they look at Trig, they don’t see a small and vulnerable human being; they don’t see the power of love triumphing over adversity; all they see is a handicapped thing that should never have been allowed to live.

Offensive and disgusting, indeed – and how revealing about the ‘liberal’ conscience -- but what it also shows is that the chattering classes have understood that this election might just call a halt to the agenda of social and moral nihilism that masquerades as progressive politics. Hence the weeping and wailing and rending of garments, in between firing the poisoned darts at Sarah Palin, on both sides of the Atlantic. And that’s why social conservatives everywhere – aka people who prefer truth over lies, right over wrong, morality over anarchy and the continuation of western civilisation over the forces of totalitarianism that threaten it – have suddenly raised their heads above the sandbags and seen a sign they never thought they’d see: that civilisation might just be fighting back."
