Not that it will make a difference, but I just called Sen. Burris office. Got through after 2 calls. Durbin’s line says if it’s busy during business hours, call back. I hesitated to even call, but decided they need to know how some of us think about this stimulus, after all, they are supposed to be representing us.
Just made my wishes known...I’ve got Stabenow and Levin so it’s probably going nowhere but thanks for the thread and the links.
OK. I emailed my stupid solidly partisan democrat porker senator. And also Mitch McConnell.
Re: "Stimulus" bill.
Sen Levin,
This is ridiculous. How is spending money we don't have on things we don't need going to help? It's going to make things worse. Why not give that money directly back to the people? Then you'll see real economic activity. VOTE NO ON THIS PORK LADEN MONSTROSITY!
Thanks!
Emails on the way to Specter and Casey.
Not that I expect anything positive from it.
Feinstein’s email from me done.
Thanks!
What (pay-for-play) deal is Arlen Specter getting? Does it have to do with Ginsberg’s SC replacement?

Hmmmmmm......phone lines are busy!
Anyone know the polling numbers on this spending bill?
All I have heard is that support is falling from 38% approval...anyone?
Consider it done Jim....
But I’m in Wisconsin....
Help!!!
I’ve been watching CSAP2 all day and about fell ovr when Feinstein said that. I’m getting the feeling that only the uber lefties are for this and I hope this bad bill gets voted down.
Senator Warner (D) VA sent me a form letter,
Senator Webb (D) did not reply.
Working hard, preserving American jobs, yada yada yada......
Got through to Collins here in Maine after quite a bit of dialing, told her to stop negotiating and just vote no.
I’ve got Stabenow and Levin. I’ve contacted Stabenow in the past and she answered. She responded with Karl Marx’s talking points, but she answered...
Done.
Kay Bailey Hutchison’s office in San Antonio said “She has indicated she will vote against the bill.” YeeHaw! Go Texas!
thanks for the thread, this is one of the reasons why I still own a FAX machine becuse in instances like this, I can write my note or brief letter and FAX it at night where I don’t encounter any busy signals.
And, another added benefit, I get a letter back from my representative with a signature on it. This came in handy once when my congressman wrote to me, on an abortion matter, and stated that he was pro-choice. The next time I noticed that he was going to a Catholic Church event, I copied the letter and put it in the hand of the pastor. The congressman was never allowed to speak there.
Is there an internet site that lists all the e mail addresses of the senators and members of congress? I don’t like using web forms.
I just called Jim Webb’s office: 1-866-507-1570
Just pick a city from VA and tell them you’re FirstName LastName from City X and you don’t want the pork/stimulus bill to pass.
