I like those, but must say, some are a tad weird. LOL
Bottom of the article. Jr. blasts NASCAR... Love it! ~ TAB
Earnhardt would also be happy if less were expected of drivers. Case in point. At a recent round-table discussion involving the track promoters of Speedway Motorsports Inc. (SMI), several stressed that they'd like to see drivers do more to help the fans and the tracks in order to sell more tickets at those facilities. Upon hearing that during a break in his commercial shoot, Earnhardt fired back with a message of his own.
"The race track owners want drivers to do more? Yeah, right. They need to go back to work," he said. "They forgot what it's like to sell tickets. That's their problem. They ain't had to sell tickets for a long time and none of them remember how or knew how or ever learned how. "They need to get back to working hard and doing their promotions and putting packages together for race fans. They don't want to cut the ticket price but they probably should and get these hotels to quit gouging these people. They can dump that responsibility on drivers all they want but the responsibility really lies in their hands to sell race tickets and they have to get creative in doing it. We already do a lot. We do [bleeping] plenty and they are full of [bleep]."
Earnhardt believes the risk versus reward for a driver offering his opinion often leads to ridicule. That is why some drivers don't open up to the fans and the media. "There are a lot of great guys in this sport," Earnhardt said. "We do what we do, man. We race as hard as we can race. I don't know what else we can do. I'm not going to be a part of no circus. I'm out there going to race and that is what we do. The cars drive the way they drive and we are driving them as hard as we can and get side-by-side and make it a show. We're driving our butts off.
"I've just got to get it done this year and make it happen" (No kidding, Jrs gotta find some jump TAB). If Earnhardt can make it happen on the track as easily as he makes it happen filming commercials, then he should have a very successful 2009 season.

Wooeee, thank you very much.
I’m in (Jana’s Raiders) and you’ll be glad to have me as I used up all my luck last year (also my first year playing).
Ended up in the 93% bracket and after that I’ll probably stay where I’m at on the roster of players - at the bottom.
I’m ready, lets go!
NASCAR NEWS...Jeff Gordon fires his entire pit crew
This announcement followed Gordon’s decision to take advantage of the government’s scheme to employ inner-city youngsters.
The decision to hire them was brought about by a recent documentary on how unemployed youths from the inner-city were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without proper equipment, whereas Gordon’s existing crew could only do it in 8 seconds with millions of dollars worth of high tech equipment. It was thought to be an excellent and bold move by Gordon’s management team as most races are won or lost in the pits. However-Gordon got more than he bargained for!
At the crew’s first practice session, not only was the inexperienced crew able to change all 4 wheels in under 6 seconds, but within 12 seconds they had changed the paint scheme, altered the Vin and sold the car to Dale Jr. for 10 cases of Bud, a bag of weed, and some photos of Jeff Gordon’s wife in the shower.
Fine lookin’ lad.
I didn’t know FR had its own Yahoo league!
Is the Yahoo fantasy group open to all Freepers?

I was just reading about this somewhere else.
Very fuzzy stuff going on. They must be using 0bama’s election rules for radicals andhow to win at any cost.+.
Mayfield was given the car number from Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, but he did not get the owner points that will put him in the top 35 that are guaranteed a starting position.
The owner points for the 41 have been shifted to Brad Keselowski in the 09 owned by Phoenix Racing. Keselowski is slated to drive 10 races for Phoenix Racing and seven in a fifth car at Hendrick Motorsports.

#09. BRAD KESELOWSKI-STERLING MARLIN-MIKE BLISS- KEN SCHRADER. MICCOSUKEE INDIAN GAMING CHEVROLET AND DODGE. PHOENIX RACING.
James Finch, owner of Phoenix Racing, is planning on running the entire 2009 Sprint Cup schedule with a variety of drivers in both Chevrolets and Dodges. For at least ten races this operation will be a driver development program for Brad Keselowski the young Hendrick Motorsports protege who drives Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Nationwide Series car. Because of Keselowski’s contractual affiliation with Hendrick, Phoenix Racing will have to field Chevrolets for those ten races. The remainder of the season will have the team fielding a Dodge with veteran drivers Mike Bliss, Sterling Marlin and Ken Schrader.
The gray area here is sponsorship. Miccosukee Indian Gaming, Finch’s long time sponsor on his Nationwide Series team, has committed to covering the cost of ten Sprint Cup races. Sponsorship for the remaining 26 events on the schedule is very much in the air with time running out.

Nascar no longer allows an owner to “buy points”. there must be some kind of “ownership” in order for the points to be transferred per Jayski
” NASCAR does not allow a team to sell points outright but generally will approve offseason transfers as long as the original owner has some sort of ownership stake in the car going forward.”
Somebody is gonna have to ‘splain this a little better.
Maybe it is Omamanomics.
Stories and recipes from Dale Earnhardt’s mother and Jeff Gordon’s mother.
“It’s a good combination between Martha and myself,” Carol
In the book, Martha mentions her husband, Ralph, liked his pound cake to be “sad” or flat and would stomp around the kitchen to make the cake fall.
“The first time I made a Sun Drop Pound Cake after Ralph died, it went flat. There was not another soul in the house when I put that cake in the oven, but it did not rise; it fell flat as a platter. Sad,” she writes.
“I’d made that cake so many times I figured this was just a fluke. I tried it again one day and darn if the same thing didn’t happen again. It was weird.”
Finally, she told herself, “I’ll try it just one more time; if this one falls, I ain’t never going to try to make one again.”
After she put the cake in the oven, she said aloud, “OK, Ralph, stay out of my kitchen while this cake is baking.”
This time the cake didn’t fall, and Martha was satisfied though somewhat mystified: “I don’t believe in ghosts, and I never saw Ralph. But I’ve never had a cake fall again.”
Secret Cake
Makes 1 sheet cake. “As bullheaded as Dale (Sr., left) could be, he was also that tender-hearted,” Martha Earnhardt writes in “Pit Stop in a Southern Kitchen: Two Moms of Racing Legends ServeUup Stories and Recipes” (Revell, $19.99). “My Secret Cake was one of his favorite desserts. You put the icing on it while everything’s hot. The ‘secret’ is that it gets better and moister each day. This is also called 30 Minute Sheet Cake.”
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup margarine

Pour in drained potatoes; mix well. Serve family style in large bowl.

Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. wrote the forewords for “Pit Stop in a Southern Kitchen,” and here’s a bit of each:
· Carol Gordon Bickford’s best dish, as far as Gordon is concerned is her lasagna. “Nobody makes lasagna like my mom . . . She claims it’s her secret ingredient. I wouldn’t know about that. What I can tell you is, it’s great.”
· Earnhardt refers to his grandmother Martha as Mamaw and says, “I don’t get to see Mamaw as often as I’d like because things are busy and I’m gone so much. But I know she’s always pulling for me on Sundays. So it’s cool that now I get to pull for her and see people come to appreciate her more when they read the stories in this book. I think she’s awesome, and I know you’ll think so, too.”
Mamaw Earnhardt broke her leg in a fall a few weeks ago, sending well wishes, prayers and hopes for a speedy recovery. It was reported that it will take some time to recover from this.
