It can’t be repeated often enough so here goes.
Oslo rape statistics are not merely worse than NY. Per capita Oslo (home to 500K people) sees 7 (yes, seven!) times the number of rapes as NY (home to millions) does. Foreigners make up 50-70% of the rapists. -Statistics vary a bit - 70% is the most recent I’ve seeen, 50% before that and 66% before that again. No doubt due to different criteria used in the statistics. Gang rapes used to be unknown, but have become more common along with the mass migration. Rapes of underage girls are up as well.
In several cases immigrants have justified rapes by saying that all Norwegian girls are whores. Actually, calling (Norwegian) girls and teachers whores has become so common in schools that a couple of parliamentarians made an effort to call attention to the problem a few years back.
In any event the media is openly instructing its journalists not to mention the background of criminals unless relevant. So many people are in the dark about how bad things are, and many people who do know keep silent for fear of being called racists. The government is currently exploring the possibility of making criticism of religion illegal, so in 2011 people may well have to keep silent for fear of going to jail...
