There are two of them at Tyson’s Corner mall in Virginia and both are always packed.
Microsoft Galaxy, Planet Starbucks... I am Jack's overprotective watchdog of movie quotes
Any idea how many Starbucks stores there are? If they are really as close to each other as people say they are...then this many closings would only be a drop in the bucket?
This is a terrible indication/litmus test of what depths
this economy will plunge.
There are a lot of Locally owned “starbucks copycats” here in my town...if I do splurge and get a latte it will be at one of these places. One of the places donated big jugs of coffee to our Cub Scout family campout. Nice.
The cafe near where I work sells Green Mountain Coffee Roasters’ coffees. I like their coffees better than SBUX’s.
However, at home I just started drinking “5 Star Joe” that I bought at the local grocery. I try different coffees from time to time and this one is good—a little harsh but that seems to make it better.
Best coffee I’ve tried in the past 5 years is Kona (probably about 10% Kona but good regardless)—unfortunately, I can’t seem to find it locally.
Where will smartly dressed people with laptops go to have a latte and look important? 7-11? Mickey D’s?
Crackhouses, of course!
I do have to say that when I was between jobs, I would use the Cherry Orchard Starbucks as a place to work on my job search as well as write code. There were people around, coffee if you needed it to get the brain amped, and the female help wasn't hard on the eyes, that's for sure.
Not all Starbucks are evil, folks. They did stupidly overexpand, but they also did / still do employ some hardworking kids and gives them a decent health-care benefit, which is critical if you find yourself in a bad way.
“I get a big Starbucks 3 or 4 times a week.”
I get one every morning and with the discount card it’s 1.70. I love the stuff and find the employees to be competent and friendly, unlike McDonalds.
I won't buy anything from McDonald's. Their CEO gets them to promote the gay agenda.
We’re not gonna be needing as much retail in Obamaworld. Barack ain’t gon’ let you go back to the way you use to be.
1/4 of the Starbucks in the US are in California as of May of 2006.

another one bites the dust
I want, I demand my Café Macchiato! (Stimulus Bill?)
According to USA Today in May of 2006, there were a total of 7,950 stores in the United States, with 2,005 of those being in California.
