“I want gridlock.” music to the ears.

There will be no gridlock. The Dems control the WH and Congress. They can pass whatever they want. They just want the Reps to sign on so they can share the blame and the consequences for their failed policies. The Reps would be fools to sign on to this bipartisanship nonsense.

I'm not sorry at all he lost in November. In fact had he won, it would have been a disaster for the GOP. Right now, we would be forced to support the same crap sandwich McVain now supports, because you don't want to embarrass a Republican President. But with Obama in office, its removed a heavy burden from us and made life easier. What to oppose? EVERYTHING!

"The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny." --James Madison

Great quotation. Unfortunately, those who have given us the theory the "unified executive" (as expressed in NSA snooping of American citizens, undeclared Wilsonian wars, signing statements, etc.) over the last eight years are now paying the price.

LOL. McCain, Snowe, Collins, Graham, Specter, and other RINOs will be only to happy to sign on with the Dems in the Senate.

Was the “stimulus package” ever intended to pass or was it merely another electoral gimmick?

If anything passes in the way of gifting, you better examine those who “helped” the election voting process.

If you expect honesty from promises made from the Obama partisans - you would be wasting your time.

McVain and the RINOs will. I expect it in the end to pass. But at a time that will try men's souls, that is the time we need real profiles in political courage. Its not the easiest thing in the world to stand up to the Obama Cult and if you've noticed I'm not extending him the courtesy of a honeymoon. I began opposing him the moment he took office and I don't apologize for it!

A rose is a rose is a rose. Whatever this giant pork package is called, it is really payback to Dem constituencies to strenghten and expand their power.

They'll find out being in the majority can be a completely miserable experience. LOL!

You must be joking. During the last 75 years, the Dems have been in the majority for most of it except for that relatively short hiccup when the Reps held the House by slim majorities for 12 straight years. The Dems consider being in the majority their birthright and they still acted like they were in the majority when they were the minority.

The Reps failed to use their power effectively when they were in the majority. In many ways, the Reps seem to like being in the minority rather than the majority. You can bet that the Dems will be far more ruthless and forceful in exercising their power now that they control overwhelmingly the Congress and the WH. Being in the majority may be a "miserable experience" for Reps, but it sure as hell won't be for the Dems. They want it and will not let go of it without a fight. I for one take no solace in the fact that the Dems are in the majority.

“Challenged by one Republican senator about why Congress should accept a certain piece of the package, participants said the new president replied simply, “I won.”

What an arrogant piece of lint. The bottom line is that, all republicans in congress should use every blocking tactic they have available to them and should vote for this nonsense with resounding no, no, no votes. Amen.
