If I may add a bit:
I was in elementary school during the early days of the space program. It was common for the school to provide a TV in the rooms to show the early lift-off and return landings. John Glenn, the monkeys and such. This was a pretty big deal at the time. Also when JFK was assassinated his funeral procession was televised and I remember seeing it in the classroom.
There may have been other events but these kind of stick out in my memory. I started school in approx. 1956. A kind of rural school in Ohio. But TV use in the classroom was not unheard of even back then.
(We had indoor plumbing and shoes also...;))
Nice home page by the way. My Pop was a 26 yr Navy man.

Yes it was. When I was in Jr. High they used to show the world series in study hall. Thats when they used to play day games only.

Hi! My tv went into shock because it was turned on early and then so a station other than the Food Network, lol. I definitely will be watching the show in Feb. Should be interesting. She and I will not agree on the single mother issue. Nope, notatall, notatall....

It was 1963 and I was in the first grade but I remember being home the day of the JFK funeral. I think a combination of snow on the ground and being in the DC area was the reason the schools were closed. Say thanks to your dad for his service.
