Just to add, Democrat are co-opting your (classic Republican talking points) language. Pelosi is now saying that government programs (the stimulus plan) create jobs and increases tax revenue, just like the republican Kemp-o-nomic taking points that “tax cuts pay for unlimited government spending”. Pelosi is saying “government spending pays for more government spending”. And people are buying it.

??? That is brilliant. The tax cuts paid for Iraq!! LOL We not only invaded for free but we got a dividend, the tax cuts as a reward. Now why didn't that brilliant logic sell in 2008 election? There was no net revenue, you just borrowed trillions and cycled it around from account to account making fake paper gains until your fake bubble crashed, like Obama plans to do. Your and GWB Kemp-o-nomics has worked just great on USA ‘ getting dollars’. You just ‘got’ trillions in debt and passed it on to next guy to blame(in your dreams that will work), if only the MSM would report your crazy narrative as truth we could win elections again!

Did I say tax cuts paid for Iraq? Now you are playing the same MO as the liberals and more famously Clinton in parsing words.

NOTE exactly what I did say. But carry on as you continue to expose your self as media bait.

***IF you want the dollars to fund anything the last thing you do is RAISE taxes.***

So instead you borrow and pay interest back? And where does that money come from? It has to come from taxes because even if we print the money, it’s still debt held by the fed which has to be paid back (and inflation is a tax on the value of money anyway). The real question is why increase spending? Whether the government makes funding through inflation or taxes, people still suffer.

What exactly does suffering mean? This nation was not founded with a 'fed', and when did the people go to sleep and give power over to a 'private' government sounding organization to have power to control money.... Some things mature and the 'gods' that stay up all night long plotting and planning how to cause a 'perfect storm' for their pocket books are not unlike a literal hurricane Kat.... they created their perfect storm hitting US last October. But look who the publicans paved the road to represent US... an old guy who told the whole world he did not know economy.

Have we now not reached the point wherein 'government' creates the problems only 'government' can give relief, and never ever to be resolved? You think the Clintons did NOT have a clue what the intel demonstrated... that very same intel that George Bush was given and said enough was enough.... So what exactly did the liberals have in mind to do with and use for that intel under a continuation of their solution of equalizing all nations with algore?

When you claim to be 'compassionate' always expect your enemies to be demanding you to prove it and the liberals one avenue was in spending. And tooooooo many could not bare to be demonized as was President Bush for being mean evil rich. They thought that like liberals they could wooooo voters in spending money.

RE :”So instead you borrow and pay interest back?

Of course that is what we always end up doing. The classic republican theory is that tax cuts increase economic growth which increases tax revenues, so the tax cuts are free and pay for more spending. But what if the tax rate is zero? More seriously, we never prove that theory because we always cut taxes and increase spending at the same time, and yes the increased spending and tax cuts (usually) increases tax revenues, but always end up with negative net revenues or a deficit, Because if you hire a federal worker and he starts paying taxes, that is still a net loss.

In practice the way it works is that republicans cut taxes and increase spending, democrats join in and add on their spending to go along. Republican president signs the bill to get what he wants. Revenues go up, debt goes up fast as it has to. Economy crashes, democrats blame republicans for debt and economy. Republicans in minority claim they increased revenue and democrats should get the blame for all spending and deficits.

Summarizing: Kemp-o-nomics : "tax cuts pay for unlimited spending through higher revenues" Pelosi-nomics "Government spending pays for unlimited government spending through higher revenues"

Suffer, as in lose money. I’m no better off if the government takes more money from me. Obviously a certain level of spending is necessary and Constitutional (courts, Defense, salaries, etc.).

The country wasn’t founded with a Federal Reserve but it had a Central Bank for 20 years almost immediately. I’m not disagreeing with anything you said here; I was merely responding to the idea that taxes should be raised only after other methods have been tried. But those other methods necessarily mean that taxes will have to be raised in the future more so than now to cover the interest.

RE :”Yeah, so much for the party of limited government”

16 years ago 1993 democrats were establishment corrupt govmt power hungry hacks, republicans were Palin’s and Joe the Plummers. Now Rs are just more power hungry useless cowardly hacks with no message. Ds are even worse but seen as out of power get the political edge. I look at it as the Ring in “Lord of the Rings”. Almost everyone wanting the ring convinced themselves that they would do right with the power. Power is addictive.

That’s why LOTRs is my favorite, especially when the characters get tempted.

I remember 16 years ago republicans and George Will were talking term limits. But career congressmen would never limit their terms.

I watched this. It was a rare moment in TV history. Thank God for Peter Schiff and that CNBC has the courage to put him on air repeatedly.

He is the only voice of sanity out there. The dems, reps, the media, the financial experts, talk radio, wall street, all act like we can just borrow and print our way to richness. And the public just wants their last meal from Obama before the ship is below water.

I remember that Ross Perot was a crackpot 16 years ago, but he sounded alarm on debt and it was nothing like today.

How can speaker of house declare martial law? That was GWBs pitch.

Martial law in the House has been invoked by both parties to force same-day votes to push legislation through. (some credit DeLay with having resurrected the parliamentary procedure).

However, the September 27th, ‘08 martial law event is remarkable in that it happened to be used to push landmark legislation on a same-day basis, the bail-out bill, an unprecedented transfer-of-power, that demanded thoughtful clarity. Also, this is the first time that a member of the Dem party has actually gone on congressional record to publicly confirm the Republicans’ claims that his own party was driving the fearmongering, including declaring martial law in the streets of America, not just in the House, to coerce congressmens’ votes.

“Physical Martial law may be invoked by the President of the United States in case of any deemed “state of emergency”. Martial Law has not been put into practice since Lincoln, where several Congressmen were arrested or put under house arrest. In 1878, Congress passed the Posse Comitatus Act, which forbids military involvement in domestic law enforcement without congressional approval. However, both the Military Commissions Act of 2006 and USNORTHCOM has increased its direct involvement with US civilian administration. Additionally, the John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007, and President Bush's recent PD51 may possibly rescind previous limits by suspending Government as well as other Constitutional guarantees such as habeas corpus.”

Sep 28th: House Representatives under “Martial Law” C-SPAN

Rep. Michael Burgess (R Texas) 26th District, speaking on the floor of the House: “Mr. Speaker I understand we are under Martial Law as declared by the speaker last night.” (1:20)

Burgess stated in a later interview that Pelosi/the House had waived a requirement of House rule XIII(6)(a), placing the House under martial law, and the only information he received on the bailout was ‘ what talking points’ he was to use to sell the deal to the public. He also stated that he had been shut out of meetings (as is again happening with the new congress)

Congressman Burgess further explained, “under “martial law,” the Leadership can file legislation with tens or hundreds of pages of fine print and move immediately to debate and votes on it, before Members of Congress, the media, or the public have an opportunity to understand fully what provisions have been altered or inserted into the legislation behind closed doors. This is the procedure that the Leadership intends to use to muscle through important bills in the next two days. “
