And while we're at it, maybe we could try to teach the dumbed-down American Sheeple why we're right and the Socialists are wrong, you know, like President Reagan did?
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
” “I want my president to succeed,” Barrett said ahead of today’s inauguration.”
That’s all the voters in his district should need to know about this dipwad RINO”
I also want my President to succeed. But we know he won’t.
Now I don’t know much about Barrett and so I will take your word that he is a RINO but I would also echo his words as I am also an American first and a Republican second.
I know you'll find this hard to believe, Gramnesty, but the state doesn't belong to you.

Jim DeMint Ping! |
I think some of the folks ar “FreeREPUBLIC” need a refresher course in Civics.
You see, we live in a REPUBLIC. In this form of Government, “We the People” elect our leaders (unless they are Kennedy’s, but that’s for another thread). As a Republic, the People have, by majority vote, and according to Constitutional Electoral procedures, elected Barack Obama President. If you don’t like it, then you can squall, fuss, bitch, moan, cuss and generally act like those absolute idiots on the extremist Left did for the past 8 years.
On the other hand, one may choose to recognize, as Senator Jim DeMint (MY Senator, BTW) did. He was mature, he pointed to what he perceived to be a potential positive of the new President, and yet he did NOT compromise his Conservative Principles.
Of course, Senator Lindsay Grahamnesty is quite another story. He’s tripped over his own feet trying to ingratiate himself to the new Administration, offering up principle on the altar of political sacrifice.
There is NOTHING wrong with being civil, with accepting what is, and with bearing in mind that “this too, shall pass.” That’s what Jim DeMint did. And that’s what Conservatives MUST do to endure these next few years, and to rebuild any hope of returning the nation to where it belongs.
The Grahamnesty route of capitulation and butt-kissing will fail. Foolish charges and unsubstantiated claims are merely tilting at windmills — and THAT will fail too.
Stop crying wolf, start looking forward, snd stick to your principles. That way, if and/or when we MUST stand against a Socialist incursion gone too far against the Constitution and the rights of the People and the States, we can be calm and reasonable, rather than perceived as raving lunatics who’ve lost their minds.
Oops, sorry, my meaning was that DeMint would undermine Obama, not the conservative movement. My impression of Jim DeMint is that he's pretty solidly conservative, and willing to act that way when it counts.
Graham, on the other hand, seems to me to be a McCain clone....hope I'm wrong about him.
If I get your general tone, we need to be politically diplomatic at this point in time and let Obama shoot himself in the foot. We know from experience that the lefty ideas are ruinous. People just need to see it again with their own eyes.
No, we definitely need to get out the coals and hot knives on the lefties, I'm all for taking the battle directly to them. I'm all for fixing bayonet and closing with these jerks. I was just saying that I figured DeMint was being nice and diplomatic today since it's "Obama's day", but that people shouldn't expect him to be so nice in the months and years to come.
We clearly agree on Graham and DeMint.
However, I seem to have a different strategy for the next few years. IMHO, conservatives need to smile and appear “nice” to avoid blame for Obama’s mistakes. (The MSM will blame us anyway, but it’s the people we want to influence).
There will be times when we don’t want to be nice (Ever see the movie “Road House”?). Given that we do not yet have a true leader (e.g., Dalton, the chief bouncer in the movie), it will be difficult to know when not to be nice. Maybe DeMint will be one of those leaders.
Don’t give up the fight.
Well said, sir.
I want him to fail for the simple reason that i want him to be a one-termer.
