You want to fix the US economy, look to what makes the economy work, entrepreneurs, incentives for entrepreneurs. And that includes successful corporations, cut the corporate income tax to at least half or lower.
Last night Pelosi was bragging about bill will be passed because 80% of public is for it. She was asked what is in the bill and claimed she didnt know. She the Speaker didnt know, but Public likes it. Idiots!

And yes, the Repubs had better RETURN TO CONSERVATISM if they EVER want to win another election. As you say — Most of these people don’t have a clue who Jimmy Carter is, it’s a generation thing.
But the reality of their nighclubbing life coming to a screeching halt is hard to not understand. I have met some of these types.

But the Dems and media will be much smoother about it this time. There will be openings for a “bomb-throwing minority back-bencher” to make them pay like Gingrich did. But they’ll be few and I’m sceptical anyone will even try.
The economy is bad for business but great for the government- investors are begging to make “safe” loans to the government at near zero interest.
Why should the government change that if no one is going to make them?
The public is conditioned to take knee jerk reactions to Obama and Bush. If Obama says something American will automatically approve of it. If Bush says something, America will disapprove of it without thinking about it.
To be fair GWB brought on much of his troubles and Obama being not president yet should get a bit of optimism and good will (it’s his reward for winning.)
That being said I see what you see, meaningless feel good crap. What we really need is for Pelosi to take over from BoB, get rid of tax cuts, and piss off republicans so even McCain votes against it. We need Pelosi to go Chavis, the worst thing is what BoB wants, a few crumbs and republicans sell us out.
