So the next day after election those that were worked into a tizzy (by Hannity/Levin and each other) reacted like their child just died and cried that the world was over. They actually thought that democrats would continue to have the compete immunity they had for the past 4 years provided by GWB, even after Bush is gone. But even the MSM gets bored and will go for their own blood, like the spiders at the end of the Lost in Space movie remake attacked their mommy spider monster. And I kept reminding FRers, "We are talking about McCain, not Reagan""
I was never "for McCain" but I did vote against Obama because that was the correct thing to do. However, like you I did not spill a single tear the morning after the election. I went down town and collected the $60 I had won. Three of us had put $20 and our predictions into an envelope and sealed it a few weeks before the election. When we opened the envelope they were disappointed I had picked Obama by 4 points. "You didn't vote for McCain?" they asked. I voted for Mccain but I bet on Obama. The bailout was the coup de grace as far as I was concerned. You are right, when McCain acts like a commie it is far worse than Obama acting like a commie. It is for that reason I am pleased that McCain did not win. I shudder at the thought of four years of McCain destroying what is left of the Republican Party. At least now we have an opportunity to get to work on salvaging what is left of the conservative movement. And as I have said many times, I missed playing offense. It is much more fun than defense, as Team Obama is already beginning to learn.
