The U.S. Senate's sergeant at arms says he doesn't expect trouble if Roland Burris shows up.

And what happens if there is some? Arrest the leader? Please?

Many posters are quite right that the image of the white Sergeant at Arms preventing Burris from entering will conjure up memories of Bull Connor.
Will there also be police dogs ?
Maybe Ted Kennedy can lend Sunny and Splash for the beat down.

There is no legal way the Democrats can stop Burris from taking his seat. They can only delay it with various procedural steps, all of which will be overruled by the courts. The Illinois Secretary of State is not empowered to block the governor’s appointment (that would make him superior to the governor.) His job is to “certify”, not approve, that is , to make sure the right steps were taken and that the governor acted within his authority. That has all been done appropriately, so his failure would put him in dereliction of his duties of office.

Reid’s use of the Constitutional rule as to the Senate being sole judge of the election and qualification of its members is superceded by other Constitutional provisions providing for the rights of citizens to have representation in the Senate.

Burris will win, if he just hangs in there. They all know it and are trying to get the MSM to force Burris out. When that fails, expect them to offer a bribe to Burris.

You heard it here first.

Thanks for posting. The socialists/criminals have accelerated our descent. A very sad sight for the greatest nation in the history of civilization.
