At least they are getting the identity of the victim right. Good work on the part of the armed citizen.

Florida has some really good second amendment enforcing laws - it may actually become a safe place again.
I still wonder why thugs attempt to ply their trade knowing full well the intended victim or a bystander could be armed.

I’m stoked, getting my CCW permit next week. Probably also going to get a .380 too. All I have right now are long guns.

A .380? Try a 45.
Why use 5 bullets when just one will do.

For carrying around? I think it will be too heavy and bulky, I’m 6’1”, 180 lbs.
Heck, if that wasn’t an issue, I’d go for a .50 Desert Eagle or something stupid like that lol

I also carry a .45 - I don’t want the recipient coming back to sue me ;-)

This is scarry, keep in mind that if one of the CCW bullets went where it was not suppose to, even if defending you life, the CCW could be sued and would be on his own.
I have a CCW and carry a Keltec PF9 and this is something I worry about.
Damn I hate lawyers!!!!!

WTF!
Why do you have a CCW
Sell the dam weapon, get some training, or grow a spine.
Talk about a waste of a CCW.

Im stoked, getting my CCW permit next week. Probably also going to get a .380 too. I live in Texas and have had my CCW since 1995. Thankfully I have never had to pull-the-trigger...just slide my jacket back and expose a shiny 1911 one time to a surprised, bat-weilding thug. He had that "That's not fair" look on his face.
I snagged a Ruger 380...it is the best pocket pistol on the market....

Just reminding everyone the responsibility that goes with it, and maybe push some common sense legislation. Chill out.

The suspect's injuries were not life-threatening. I'm gonna try not to let that ruin my Christmas.

There are some resonably sized .45’s that can be carried.
Stopping power i.e hydro shock is what I believe in.

Cause its hard to conceal a 45 in shorts and a t-shirt.

...common sense legislation. WTF is that?
What part of "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
needs legislation?

Check out a Glock 9 model 26. I pocket carry it and it rides easy. Very compact for a 9mm. I find a holster is too tough to hide with shorts. The key is a heavy leather 2 inch wide belt. And off course the right shorts, I wear cargo shorts.
I also use a standard backpack with some BOG as my transporter and spare ammo carry to and from the car. I keep a fanny pack inside the BOG as a just in case holster. Mostly left in the car.

If I’m not mistaken, Florida prohibits legal action against someone lawfully exercising their right to defense under the Castle Law.

Of course one MUST know the exact terms and conditions of the law... In Texas, there are different laws regrarding the time of a crime and the the defence and force used; defence at nightime or in daylight can make a difference.

Suggestions? I’d love to check out the options. I know from reading the many gun porn threads on FR that Springfield Armory seems to be the favored manufacturer.
But remember, this is FL, we go around very lightly dressed most of the time here. It’s 72 right now in fact.
