Starting a college life at age nineteen (2001)is a little different from changing schools and moving to a new city and state at ages eleven and seven. At that age it might be a little hard to leave your friends behind.

I have it from a good source who talked to the White House gardener that the Obamas first asked to move into the White House immediately since there were a couple of unoccupied bedrooms in the family quarters.
