And this depot was not better guarded WHY???
Excuse me?
“And this depot was not better guarded WHY???”
Actually, that is a good question.
From the article: “Taliban militants have destroyed more than 90 trucks loaded with supplies destined for United States-led troops fighting in Afghanistan.”
One of the most important backbones of any US military operation is found in the supply convoys and communications teams. Questions that come to my mind is who was guarding this supply convoy and what break in their security allowed the terrorists to succeed? You can be your sweet bippy that those questions are being asked and answered while I type.
Huh? A lightly guarded US supply convoy of 90 vehicles? This sounds very strange. Any thoughts?
Per an earlier report there was only 30 attackers and the Pakistani guards fled. ABC makes it look like Tet
Nobody has ever successfully occupied Afghanistan, nobody.
It means that guards had no intention to resist and surrendered to fellow ROP adherents as fast as they could. You could have 10 times as many guards and it still doesn't change anything, you only get 10 times as many rifles on the floor. The reason for this surrender may be in part in overwhelming advantage of attackers, but IMO the guards and the attackers are not too far from each other, ideologically and politically and religiously.
I heard that after the Mumbai terrorist attacks, Pakistan troops were being moved from the tribal areas to the border with India in the event hostilities break out there.
From what I saw/heard they were all parked,,,
30 or so bad guys hit the place at 2:00 in the mornin’,,,
Shot up/blew up some Pak trucks and bugged out,,,
IIRC we lost 9 Hummers and what the others were carrying,,,
I look for India to give the Paks an ass whuppin’ soon...
Is this the reason they let them go?
Its a sad fact that foreign “allies” are usually poorly armed, trained, and motivated. Not to mention vulnerable to bribery, if not outright recruitment by our enemies.
Terrorists just keeping American car firms in business (More hummers, please).
I sure hope we have some replacements in that area to send in,,,
IIRC the Red River Army Depot makes the up-armor for them.
I think they do the re-build for the shot-up ones too,,,
In the past few years I’ve seen train-loads of trucks
tanks/etc. headed there,,,
They clean em’up and ship the M1-A1’s to another place for
a re-work,,,use parts or fix the others,,,
Some are covered with tarps,,,hard to look at...
Don’t worry.
Obama’s gonna kick their asses.
Yea, go Obama go! I gotta see this!
This is fishy! Why would we use trucks to ferry supplies when we have those C17’s, which can carry more than 90 trucks! A convoy is a goup of vehicles going down the road together. These trucks were being loaded!
It was reported,at first, that it was 300 that attacked,,,
Then the “30” number came out,,,
I guess it's the cost for haulin’ by truck,,,
It was reported(Fox) that 75% of what is needed in A-Stan
is hauled in by truck,,,
Seems to me that we are havin’ to make somebody a job just so
we can haul stuff in to the troops!!!
Their air-space~Their road!!!
Hopefully India will kick “Their” Asses in a week or so...
Nobody has ever successfully occupied Afghanistan, nobody.
Great observation... not even the Afghan's have.
