Whoops, make that 51% of their budget. I was using $7 billion from a news paper article. The Alaska Treasure Division shows $6.16 billion as a reserve. The budget for next years spending is $12.0651 billion.

Don’t be surprised if the loony left soon proposes that Obama sell Alaska back to Russia? Let Russia imprison Sarah in a Siberian gulag so she can rot in hell. That way ANWR will never be developed by Americans and the nation can continue to remain environmentally pure. So what if the Russians develop ANWR. They have every right to do what they want within their own country.
At least then ANWR, NPRA, Bristol Bay and the Offshore would be producing oil.
If the natives complained to the Russians that the exploration was interfering with their whale hunting, I suspect the Russians would just start shooting the whales from the drill ships and suggest the natives collect them.
Why is that?
If he actively tries to sabotage the pipeline, Sarah has a big enough megaphone that she will be able to call him out on it. I don;t think he’d be so foolish, at least not in his first term, not when energy security and independence has become such an important issue.
Didn’t a CA court recently refuse to allow a permit for drilling in Alaska. Wish I could remember the details.
