Christianity is spreading throughout Africa and is mostly very vital. Islam, of course, is spreading, too, although more by violence than by persuasion.

Nigeria is part Christian and part Muslim. But there are also still some reasonably moderate Muslims as well as the violent ones.

What I think we have to hope is that Christianity wins the struggle in Africa and the South. So far there are some hopes that it will do so. (No thanks to Desmond Tutu and his ilk.)

Affirmative - he was speaking of Tudun Wada.

Wars and rumors of war - perhaps so.
Believe me, we will know when the end of days comes.

Are we now in the “wars and rumors of war” part of the program? Sure looks like it from here.

Exactly. Because this is the first time anyone has talked about the possibility of war in 2,000 years.

Sadly, it seems both India and Nigeria deal with this kind of violence fairly often not to downplay it’s significance but weren’t actually, the train bombings of a few years ago worst than what just happened in Mumbai as far as loss of life? And I don’t say that to downplay this most recent high profile event, I have definitie ties and respect and love for the Indian nation as I do with Nigeria as well. It certainly points to vigilance needed on behalf of all against the Islamic menace. Let’s not forget Sudan and her Lost Boys.

Sounds like there is no acting police force there.

No controlling legal authority.

Ahhh...a Biblical scholar. Excellent. I have heard that there are other events that will be fulfilled and some have. For example, Israel was re-established in 1947 and declared its independence in 1948. There are others, of course, but I’m sure you are well aware and don’t need someone with little or no knowledge like me to tell you.

Agreed. We have had a quiet time here since 9/11. GWB has done a good job in this area and I’m not feeling all that secure about the next term.

He writes to us from time to time with news and information on what is happening there that is NOT covered by the MSM.

Exactly.

You have to actively go out and look for information on African news issues.

Nearly 20% of the World's population resides in Africa, but to the "diversity" seeking liberals in the MSM, they're just a bunch of dusky hued, buck-toothed savages who need to be told what to do, and of little actual interest or importance.

70,000 Mauritanians slaughtered? Who cares?

1,000,000 Tutsis massacred in Rwanda? Big deal.

5,400,000 killed in Congo Kinshasa? So what?

250,000 Whites killed or run out of Zimbabwe? They couldn't care less.

2,500,000 killed or run out of Sudan? That's news?

80,000 displaced or killed in South Africa? Happens all the time.

1,500,000 murdered or run out of Equatorial Guinea? What's Michelle Obama wearing?

Shame.

The American media is weak in regards to covering Africa

All in all; as was said when there was the Cold War era, the BBC does seem to have objective coverage of stories.

I’ve visited them daily, stories like that War in Congo have been front page often ( www.bbc.co.uk )imho only.

The American media is weak in regards to covering Africa..

not only the american media. European media isn´t paying africa very much attention too.
but to be fair i guess there are not much people left here who are really interessted in the “relative normal african” daily behavior (it looks like killing, raping..... is the usual activity for many people of this continent). very sad
to say but africa is a lost cause *at least in my personal impression* . i can see no end in sight. it looks like just the moment they stop the killing in one country they start killing each other in the next one or two countries. (then wait 5 years and it will start again in the first country).

You are correct.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/default.stm I think this does show the BBC makes a good effort; partly because they pursue the news (Worldwide service of the BBC which I listened to on shortwave as a kid) in an objective fashion and the secondary reason is that a lot of those places are former territories, colonies and such. For the English language at least, they are the place to go, again, imho. And then, after that, the BBC seems to translate into a lot of languages. The BBC seems to give a lot of coverage to the former Rhodesia present Zimbabwe and when that Mugabe fellow would not give up power after being defeated in an election from what I believe, in the American media one would have to seek the story out but with the “Beeb” it was the front page story. The UK is so intertwined with it’s former territories that the Mumbai attacks coverage almost seems like they are covering a story in their own land.

It proves the point though that a large part of the media ignore the African situation.

A Cholera epidemic killing up to 360 people really is a big deal happening in Zimbabwe right now but the BBC is one of the few places to report this. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7752170.stm This would be a real big deal if this happened to a Western nation.

I know there is some African news agency as well and the Nation media out of Kenya for Kenyan news are somewhat adequate.

http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2008Dec01/0,4670,AFNigeriaClashes,00.html

JOS, Nigeria — Iki Atsen told the women in his family to flee and grabbed an ax as a man with a bullhorn urged 100 Muslim men to storm Atsen's Christian homestead and kill all nonbelievers.

Atsen survived, but his two brothers were cut down by machetes and tossed by the mob into a well, among over 300 people slaughtered in the worst violence to hit Nigeria in years.
