So-— this whole “doorbuster Black Friday Sale” things started decades back - with stores advertising a handful of loss leader products in an effort to get customers in the door. I also remember some of the early such sales (still before stores started having these special opening times in the wee hours of the morning for these stupid “sales”). And I remember women going in and beating each other up for Cabbage Patch Dolls.

I also remember thinking at the time, even though I was relatively young, this really reflects the “spirit of Christmas”....

And as time has marched on - and each year, we hear of some sort of skirmish or bad behavior - the stores just make a bigger and bigger deal out of these Black Friday Doorbuster deals... feeding the fire.

Personally, I think the whole concept is a very bad idea - it just fosters such bad behavior. And add to that how it really causes me to just want to skip the whole commercialized Christmas. Send out cards to our immediate family and our circle of friends, have a nice family get together - with singing, good food, and fellowship. Thank God for the real reason for the season - the ultimate gift of His only begotten Son - Make a special donation to your church, a missionary, or your favorite charity. Get with your children and read the nativity story from your family Bible.

This is not Walmart’s fault - (some) people are just animals...

Yeah... when you feed the wildlife, don't be surprised when it eventually acts like wildlife and BITES!

Wal-Mart fed the fires of this idiotic "Black Friday Doorbuster" sale mentality. And made it worse by allowing such a mob to gather on their property without proper security and crowd-control.

Wal-Mart had a hand in this tragedy. At minimum, they owe the fallen security guard's family a lifetime income.

Funny... the title of “animal” gets posted on FreeRepublic quite often, and nearly always is a reference to behavior, not race.

Get off the racial sensitivity/PC bandwagon. Call a spade a spade...errr... band analogy. How about this one:

If it looks like a duck, behaves like a duck, smells like a duck, sounds like a duck, swims like a duck, flies like a duck, then it probably is not a gopher...

About the only racial tie I have read on this thread so far is the statement (of fact) that blacks make up a disproportionately large percentage of the animal-like acts that we hear about/read/see. (And yes, I know it wasn’t put quite that nicely, but emotions have been pushed in this thread - and particularly when the race card gets played - we had enough of that with Obama’s campaign).

I started by pointing out the race in the pictures and realized I needed to change the way I was looking at it. It isn’t race, it is culture.

Sounds like you're doing mental gymnastics to try to rationalize away your politically incorrect common sense--I see that a lot these days. But certainly, there is a huge cultural problem with the black community.

What we are witnessing is a tragic example of how an identity group can degenerate into a state of wretchedness when other groups are no longer allowed to make fun of them. For instance, hip-hop fashion trends have taken millions of black youth and made them almost indistinguishable from rodeo clowns. But to helpfully point that out will result in instant accusations of racism from liberals as well as weak-minded, posturing conservatives.

The man was identified as Jdimytai Damour of Queens

"...Yup,yup,yup, you know,,, it was obamas supporters, in yer biased, distorted, dogmatic, twisted, warped, uppp, excuse me, for being judgmental"

Ok, I'll step in and be more accurate. 95% of them were obama supporters.

Oh, and here is my source for reference.

“I thought those KKK people hated blacks, not Jews.”

Oh, they hates lots of people!

“The KKK has a record of terrorism[2], violence, and lynching to intimidate, murder, and oppress African Americans, Jews and other minorities and to intimidate and oppose Roman Catholics and labor unions.”

Wal-mart is not guilty of anything in this case.

Many years ago in CA, two punks were trying to break into a public school in order to steal the computer equipment. The punks fell through the skylight and were harmed. The schools were sued by the parents of the thugs, and they won.

Wal-mart was offering a sale just like any other store was offering.

The free market offers many things; including the opportunity to behave badly.

The Wal-Mart in Long Island had a sale. Shoppers stormed the store, tearing the doors off their hinges, pushing shoppers forward from the rear, an innocent man is trampled to death.

And you blame Wal-Mart.

Right. And the U.S. "deserved" 9-11.

They’ve already started blaming Bush on the comments sites of the Daily News, and yes, they’re citing a “bad economy” that makes people “desperate for bargains.”

Image at post 24 - Utterly despicable and immature. The White House will soon be disgraced to levels even not attainable by the Clintons.

Often people lack the proper terms to frame their thoughts. Russell Kirk gave a lecture some years ago entitled “Prospects for the Proletariat” where he traced back that word from Roman times as those “that give nothings to the commonwealth but his progeny.”

Kirk goes out of his way to show that classifications of poor, urban, welfare recipient and the like all fail to capture the term correctly because there are people of true worth and value in all similar classes.

I think that it is a good term, abused by Marx, but suitable with instances like this.

Often not having proper terms to apply to the pictures of life we are confronted with, we display our shortcomings in our characterizations. Few have the honesty to own up to shortsightedness of expression and look for a better way to give words to their thoughts, its good to see RW fulfill the honest role in that regard as he often does.

Obama supporters, practically every single one of them.

I suspect that many of the shoppers may have voted multiple times for O'Dumbo..!

Thanks neighbor, I was about to post the same thing. When you are walking in a cow pasture and see something that looks like a cow patty and smells like a cow patty, I would not suggest tasting it just to be sure. :0)

I am only curious - you state that “there are many blacks” here at FR. How do you know this?
