As entertaining as this would be, especially if Big Bubba would replace Reid as Senate Majority Leader, I’ll have to pass.

It’ll be Caroline Kennedy and yes you can bet the farm. Only this will complete the liberal throw-back fantasy of Camelot returned.

Fat chance while Bill can make real money giving speeches.

Exactly! Nothing wrong with making money, but there is no way in hell he would take the seat. Hmmm, I never thought Hillary would accept the Sec. of State position either.

Our country has seemed surreal since the election. I don't have a handle on what is logical and right any longer.

300,000,000 people, legal and illegal, in America. The same few inbred names keep surfacing in politics and in the “media.”

What a pant-load......

Bill Clinton knows he can enjoy so much more p-—y as a private citizen zipping around in corporate jets..... why would he mess up such a good thing by wasting his time in the Senate?

Clinton. Bush. Kennedy. Udall. Landrieu. Bayh. Casey. Dodd. Murkowski. And now Biden. America has officially and in violation of the Constitution established royalty in the land.

Even the Mafia was not infested with the primogeniture that has overtaken our politics.

This is not good, people.

primogeniture: the right of succession belonging to the firstborn child, esp. the feudal rule by which the whole real estate of an intestate passed to the eldest son.

And don't forget Chelsea -- next generation comin' up.

“n this no-win competition, Paterson has to balance claims of gender, race, ethnicity and geography.”

The WaPo is sexist and racist. Should it not be the best person for the job period?

Just wondering...

Just for fun, say this happens, what percentage of the American public would really believe his financial disclosure statement? My bet would be 0.000001%, that being Billieblobslic and Chelsea, as Hillary could not sign such a lie. Put that in your corn cob pipe and smoke it.

Out of all the names mentioned...obviously none of them good, but I would rather Caroline Kennedy in the seat. I definitely don’t want that gas bag Robert Kennedy jr in that seat.

Sure, Why not. The Senate has become the House of LOrds, with seats being handed down from father to son (Chaffee, Gore and soon, Biden); kept in the family(Kennedys) and handed to political hacks.

The latter is never more evident than the appointment of Ted Kaufmann as Biden’s “replacement”. Keep in mind that Biden will take office as a Senator - one last time - and immediately resign. The outgoing governor of Delaware, Ruth Ann Minner, has appointed Kaufmann to take Biden’s place. This, presumably, to hand over to Biden’s son, Beau, when he returns - or is ordered home after two months - in Iraq.

I know Kaufmann personally, having worked with him and attended the same church. If you think 0bama is liberal, this guy is to the left of him. And he will not tolerate people who disagree with him.

So he’ll be a Senator for a short time, then collect a fat pension for the rest of his life. What a country!

If, as is expected, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton becomes secretary of state, New York Gov. David Paterson could send her husband to the U.S. Senate. Doing so would
. . . be no better than having Senator Clinton retain her seat in the Senate while taking on the new role of cabinet secretary.
