Smoking is a disgusting habit that can kill you and those around you.

I quit smoking. I still dislike anti-tobacco zealots intensely. I feel that smoking is a horrible habit. However, I feel that anti-tobacco zealotry is a mental illness whose sufferers should be involuntarily committed.

Probably more than just tenuous when pregnant women are second-handed it. The ETS-childhood asthma risk link is pretty solid.

Please tell that to my friend of 35 years that smoked unfiltered Camels since I met him in 1973. Just died at age 63 and full of cancer that started in his lungs from those Camels.

the white house is a public building. public laws dictate behavior as such with smoking. Either everyone can smoke everywhere, or they are infringed upon. He should not be able to change the laws of a publicly owned building just by his word.

NO SMOKING.

You anti-tobacco zealots cause more smoking than you prevent.

There's a plethora of things that I don't like about Obambi. Inexperienced. Marxist. Empty suit. But I really don't give a fat rat's backside whether he smokes or not. I haven't smoked in nearly 8 years (except for 3 or 4 cigars in that time frame) but I probably have a total of 20 years of smoking under my belt. I know smokers. I know non-smokers. I know never-smokers. I know those that have quit. It isn't really a significant issue.

I don't fear that Obambi might walk up to the corner and buy a pack of Camels. I fear that he'll raise my taxes. I fear that he'll push legislation to stop the production of ammuntion. I fear that he'll weaken the military significantly. I fear that he'll share intelligence with our enemies. I fear that he'll seize my 401K and "redistribute" it to a bunch of lazy democrat thugs. I fear that he'll turn this country into a depressed socialist pit from which we cannot recover.

But I could care less if he smokes or not.

If the phrase “personal responsibility” makes you defensive, you may be a liberal. And if you’ve ever typed the phrase, “I HATE” (in capital letters, just like that) you might wanta check out DailyKos or Democratic Underground; you just might be one of them.

Point is- how do you know it was the Camels that caused the cancer? My sister never smoked, and died from lung cancer at age 59. My grandad was a two pack a day unfiltered Pall Mall smoker that lived into his eighties and never got cancer. I promise you every smoker that gets cancer is told the cigarettes caused the cancer no matter where it is; yet the doctors don’t know what to say about those who don’t smoke and get cancer.

I don’t think smoking is good for you- but I also do not believe everything blamed on smoking is true either.

I quit smoking cigarettes about twenty years ago but I’ll say I love the smell of a just lit cigarette ,except Marlboro’s, especially if they are lit with a match. I don’t miss smoking except during the days first cup of coffee, after a good meal and after some sexual type relations with my wife.

Barack has never experienced GI barracks with the Butt cans hanging on the wooden supports in the OPEN bays.

I experienced such and I have never smoked.

Smoking was permitted in the barracks.

Can all the veterans that experienced second-hand cigarette smoke in the barracks sue the U.S. Government?

Some of you might be interested in research that suggests that smokers have about 50% less Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s than non-smokers.

My mom died of Alzheimer’s, never smoked. My husband has Parkinson’s, never smoked.

We all die of something, right?

It’s not smoking that makes Obama an inept and hopeless C in C.

Eisenhower was a chain smoker.

I personally took a person to the morgue who was killed by second-hand smoke. She has asthma attack when her uncle smoked in the house.

She was 7.

I was a smoker at the time.

FTA: “In a democracy, that is a good thing for ruler and ruled to know they have in common.”

WTF is this? The One is gonna be a ‘ruler’? And I’m gonna be ruled?

One half MOA says not.

Let me try dissembling some of the leftist propaganda from your rather interesting post

Smoking is a *disgusting* < habit < that > can kill you > +and those around you.+

*Disgusting* is a wholly subjective and trendy descriptive word, especially considering that smoking was considered a perfectly normal and acceptable activity until about 15 years ago.

< Habit < is another wholly subjective word. Many people smoke only on certain occasions, others smoke constantly.

> Can kill you > So can walking down the street.

+ and those around you.+ Show me ONE death certificate that lists “secondhand/sidestream/environmental or whatever the term of the day is tobacco smoke and I’ll back off.

I am SICK beyond words of you anti-smoking GNATZIS constantly trying to force your shallow, baseless accusations against smokers simply because you *FEEL* like you *MIGHT* somehow be affected by some perceived alleged toxin.

There was a certain WWII leader who felt EXACTLY the same way you do about smoking. He was also an animal rights supporter, and a vegetarian.

Fortunately, his side lost.

Now those same folks who have ostracized and alienated smoking are coming after boozers. If that’s not your vice, don’t worry, they’ll be going for the fatties right after that. Then it’ll be those who don’t exercise.

Have no fear, FRiends, YOUR ox WILL be gored too. It’s just a matter of time.
