The worst possible examples of recyclers have been political liberals ~ at least from what I have experienced. I've worked in several offices over the course of my career and have requested the responsibility of taking care of recycling and general environmental maintenance. This I would offer to do on my own and with my own time and resources.
It was discouraged by my lib bosses and often never implemented.

Walmart still sells them, for now anyway. We bought a case of 100W & 75W.
If they break you have to leave the room for at least an hour and only use cardbord to clean it

Imagine a few years hence when the environmental police break down your door at 2 am looking for incandescent light bulbs, and non water saving toilets or when organized crime is bootlegging cigarettes, salt, foi gras and transfat cooking oils. Not even Orwell could have imagined that.
No, they have learned it is easier to rule by fiat, than follow the rules.
