The description sounds like what first aid classes list for symptoms of hypoglycemic event. Possibly a full coma.

I am not diabetic, but I was once getting a spa treatment (special treat) where I had to stand for a long time. The standing in one spot made me have a sugar drop to where everything started going black on me, so it is certainly possible.

Let’s just hope he locked his knees. Anyone who has ever been in a parade or stood at parade rest knows if you lock your knees you well may pass out. Hope it is minor as this and nothing more serious. I saw the video and he did not hit the floor.
He was giving his speech and was animated. Then it looked like he was looking at his notes but then did not look back up and just started to slump down but about 4 big guys rushed out and got him before he fell so at least he won’ have any injuries from actually hitting the floor hard.
Just read this link and the first thought I had was that it could be a stroke unless he locked his knees while standing at the podium. The article says he was having some slurred speech and that is a typical sign for stroke.
My husband had a tiny TIA last Feb. IT was the type which is related to hypertension. The doctors are stumped as to why he would have had this as he was on meds to prevent it. His symptoms were not the usual. He did not have the slurred speech or face droop or eye lid droop. When he got up to answer the door his foot felt odd. He has nueuropathy in his feet so we didn’t think much of it. In the morning he could not walk very well and his speech then was more like he had been to the dentist and had a face full of novocaine. So off to the ER we went and two days and a gazillion tests later it was shown he had had a tiny stroke.
Most of those pimple-faced pissants and chronic masturbators need to be bitch-slapped something fierce.
Not usually. A first seizure at his age is a bad sign.
