The Chuck Turner Porno photos showing actors alleged to be GIs raping Iraqi women did for me. I miss the Sunday crossword puzzle, but that’s about it.
Yeah and they importuned me for months.

I am just Heartbroken! Not the Boston Globe! What’s next, using NYT stock certificates as birdcage liner (to replace the last practical use of the Grey Old Whore of Babylon)?

It is tough to be a conservative up here. And not a RHINO conservative, but a real one (in my unobjective opinion...:)

BTW, I heard that the Globe lost about 1,500 subscripers after the Chuck Turner fiasco. Considering that the NYT spend about $3,000 per subscriper to buy the glob, (sic) that’s like a $4-point-five million buck error. The editor insisted on running the story even after the reporter warned him it was fishy.

Heard what? Of the 1,500 or so cancellations (mine was just one little mote) or about the fact that the reporter told her editor she thought the story was fishy?

Latest in Chuck Turner news (for those wondering who he is)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2133005/posts?page=27#27
He was arrested yesterday morning in his office at City Hall, after the Feds busted down the door of his house looking for him. Apparently he slept in his office night before last. He was arraigned in Worcester (Woosta), probably to preclude demonstrations in the court during his arrainment.

The future of news is the internet, and to a much lesser extent the networks. Newspapers are going the way of the telegraph.
