Okay, a little hyperbolic. But still, too many (and I don’t excuse many of my fellow evangelicals who voted O or stayed home). But if more than half the soldiers defect I don’t expect to see much war.
I hope I’m wrong.
The out may be that some floor in the Catholic hospital will be run by some other entity (abortuary) and therefore it is not “really” the hospital performing the abortions. I have heard of it happening in a diocese in the past.
this would affect every catholic hospital
People believe what they want to believe.
The half of Catholics that voted for the zero aren’t “the Catholic Church”. Not even close.
consider that Obama got 52-54% of a group that Bush got 58-62% of.
If you leave out the Catholics, the evangelical numbers for McCain were the strongest group for him. Thank Sarah for that.
Amen to that. Some people will preach every waking hour to the converted re: abortion while all else sinks into the sea.
One more time in English please.
I pray for the Catholic church. Let them see the evil within those politicians that they have supported through the years.
Good chance you're right.
The Catholic church has a real leaning toward fiscal socialism.
The Dems took advantage of that in this election and will try it again in '10.
This Catholic problem is why Central America had such a problem with libertarian theology. There is a strong bias against capitalism among Catholics.
“The out may be that some floor in the Catholic hospital will be run by some other entity (abortuary) and therefore it is not really the hospital performing the abortions. I have heard of it happening in a diocese in the past.”
I’ve worked in two Catholic hospitals and neither one would even consider this.
Which diocese are you citing?
Today, I walked in to our parish Catholic school to deliver a donation. They had replaced the photo of President Bush with one of Bobama in front of the U.S. Capitol. They also had a photo of Joe Biden where VP Cheney had been. These were placed on the entry wall between the Pope and the Cardinal.
Anyway, when I saw Bobama's picture, I burst out with "He isn't the President yet!" The receptionist replied that he is the the president-elect. (D'uh) I said, Still, he hasn't been inaugurated and he is not the President. Bush is.
So, there you are. Apparently, our parish kids are being taught to be proud and pleased re this election, and Bush is given the bum's rush. I guess a Catholic education is not what it once was.
That's good news, sort of. Nonetheless, he IS the President elect, and he WAS helped by millions of Catholic votes.
You should have told them you were there to make a donation. However upon reconsideration, you will donate the money to a pro-life organization.
I am trying hard not to tell a lot of people off.I know it’s coming I can just feel it:)
Under this dictator, maybe Catholics will be the equivalent of the Jews under Hitler. Off with their heads, or off to re-education camps. True persecution of people of faith could be on the horizon.
I was donating pull tabs to the kids’ Ronald McDonald project, so it wasn’t money going to the church, but something directly from the kids to other kids....:-)
But your suggestion is good and I’ll discuss that with the conservative Catholics I know.
