Please change this to the correct headline.
The media, and a lot of Republicans including ‘THE WAITER’ Tim Pawlenty, are twisting that into ‘oh we lost because we didn’t SUPPORT amnesty’.
When the argument can be made that we lost because our candidate DID support it.
McCain is a Democrat in all but name. He was just being himself.
John McCain was our Nominee. Get that?
Who's "our"? This isn't a Republican website, newb. Get that?
John McCain was the nominee of the liberal press and was treated quite well until the time came to demonstrate that their positive comments regarding the "maverick" were merely intended to cause the Republicans to choose a weak candidate to oppose the Democrat.
I got behind McCain because there was no other choice and he ran a terrible campaign. At almost every rally Gov. Palin would do her best to pump up McCain to the crowd only to have McCain come out and put the crowd to sleep with conservative lite themes. In the end, I think a lot of conservatives stayed home.
I agree, and in some ways I believe McCain was trying to lose the election in the end.
bttt
McCain is a Democrat in all but name. He was just being himself.
that he was, and we were all aware of it.
some of us prayed that his reacharounds would attract the middle ground vote while sarah solidified the base.
But, it didnt work out that way.
I cringed every time he talked about economic issues. It was absolutely painful to hear him wax so ineloquently on tax policy. He didn't know what he was for from one day to the next.
Toward the end of the campaign it was becoming clearer and clearer we were losing badly even though we didn't want to admit the obvious. Obama had convinced voters that McCain was more Bush than Bush himself and that he (Obama) was change. The results over the next four years will be disasterous and I believe only the hand of Almighty God can protect our country from another vicious attack. We now have two years to convince voters they should vote Republican in 2010. Are we up to the task? I wonder.
If McCain was a Democrat he would have WON! Instead the Socialist, Marxist Anarchist pig will assume office in January. Stop blaming McCain.
McCain deserves a lot of blame for running an inept campaign. Historically inept, in fact. But the majority of the blame should be reserved for those who voted for this liberal POS in the primaries.
YES: B I N G O! And when I vowed not to vote for McCain when he spoke at my graduation during the spring/summer of 2006, though I was in support of him at times, I ended up keeping that vow, and I voted Chuck Baldwin-A real American and Constitutionalist/Conservative.
McCain was a liberal, why not nominate a Reagan Style Conservative next time, Palin was the only think that energized the base at all, however she wasn’t really that conservative herself (if you actually paid attention to her statments in intervews, and record as Alaskan Governor).
THE ONLY THING McCain COULD HAVE Done to win is to have voted AGAINST “the bailout”!
Voters want to know how your policies will affect them. They want specifics so they can sit down and see where they fit in your plan. Voters can only judge you on what you have done in the past and what you SAY you will do in the future. It goes further than that though because you must "connect" with the voters. Gov. palin did that and McCain did not.
