Oh good grief, it was a dinner party at the White House. Was Laura Bush supposed to send out for Big Macs and coke? Have we become so petty that we’re begruding the first family and their guests good food and whine now? Disgusting.

How is this dinner any different from all the previous dinners at the WH since the days of JFK?
The world's only superpower should serve what? Big Macs and chili dogs?
Common people wake up and get with it!

According to the White House, tonights dinner to kick off the G-20 summit includes such dishes as Fruitwood-smoked Quail, Thyme-roasted Rack of Lamb, and Tomato, Fennel and Eggplant Fondue Chanterelle Jus.It's a state dinner with world leaders--what are they expected to eat? I'm just a student, and I get stuff like that all the time from law firms trying to recruit me.
And the $500 price tag they assign to the wine is retarded. I did a quick search and found it for $274.95, but I guess it makes the story more sensational to use the highest price you can find instead of the lowest.

This is still (until Jan 20th.) the seat of world power.
Would you have us act like some third world country?

More baiting of the classes. This is unbelievable. Maybe the White House should have served coney dogs.

Oh yeah, I recall the dozens and dozens of state dinners during the Clinton administration being described by CNN in this manner.
In fact, the Bush administration has given only a fraction of the number of state dinners that the Clintons gave.
Sickening to see people here falling for CNN’s class-warfare tactics, hook, line, and sinker.

Shafer Hillside Select is a very good and well known Cabernet from Napa. It did not cost the White House anything even close to $500. 2003 was an excellent year and the stuff has become a collectors item. If they bought it when it was released in 2004 or 2005, they probably paid about $100 a bottle.

What's wrong with a Big Mac combo meal? At this point, that would be a family night out for most of us.

Let them eat matzo!
Or, corn pone drizzled with bacon grease.
Maybe white rice, mixed with tomato sauce.
Fresh mustard greens on the side.
Wash it down with nice hot mug of chicory.
‘twould help keep’m centered.

Give it a break... CNN! FGS!
We are hosting world leaders... they should send out for Subway?
This is but more of the Obmaapropaganda machine slamming the Bush Admin....
Wake up and look at what the media is spoon feeding you.
I ate a fine breakfast, lunch and dinner today... those posters quoting Marie Antoinette are trolls.
Get real... they are setting the stage and you are taking the bait.

Limousine liberals do this all the time, every single day. They live the ultimate rich life and they discuss how they are going to take care of the poor, keep them poor, giving them handout, give them food in exchange of votes, and all while they are dinning in the most expensive restaurants and drinking the most expensive wine.

Just a taste of what is in our future. No pun intended. If Obama has his way with his socialist agenda there will be more class separation.
That is what the 'rats want. The masses dependent on government. Relying on meager hand-outs, while they live like royalty.

personaly Bush should have cancelled the meeting to save cash because we all knew the other 19 is waiting to deal with Obama
BUT on the flip side what were we to give the 19 leaders of the world a double cheese burger, fries, & a coke
